The snowstorms have started early in Iowa so I was extremely happy to walk into the warm hotel and check in. The desk clerk was friendly but not overly so. Check in was very quick and I was quickly on my way to a beautiful and blessedly warm room. Noise was a bit loud as wedding guests came in after 1am and I was near the elevators. Check out was seamless and breakfast at the hotel cafe was quick, friendly and tasty.

A lovely hotel with nice rooms and friendly staff, located in the heart of downtown Grinnell and just a few minutes walk from the campus. In an old school building, they play on that theme in their design and branding. The restaurant on the premise has playful drinks and good food. Abundant free parking. Perfect for a visit to the college or just to enjoy a small town.

Poor lighting, couldn’t figure out how to just turn on 1 light. Bathroom lights to bright to keep light on all night. You should install small night light in bathroom. Refrigerator too small and u need coffee maker in room Beds comfortable, bedding cozy, and quiet room. Thanks for great weekend in Des Moines.

All is good, people very helpful and warm. Very good shuttle to airport, just not sure why they gave me a room at 2nd floor which is actually on a platform for ventilation or warming system equipment, kind of noisy but I am on jet lag and can’t sleep well anyway.

Very good and clean hotel and service was awesome. I was surprised that breakfast didn't come with the room. Also I had some trouble with the card to access the elevator but the front desk was very helpful and polite.

Clean room and convinient location. But you have to have a honor membership to access free WiFi and bottled waters are only free to silver members otherwise it is $2 a bottle.

The highlander was great - our kids loved it! Not to mention the service and the food were perfection.
