As a backpacker, the journey to the hotel was challenging. I chose this one because it was the closest to Hakusan-Hoko Temple, which I absolutely had to see for its magnificent three-story pagoda and all its surroundings. Arriving from Aomori, I couldn't leave until after 4 p.m. Having not paid attention, I discovered that there are very few buses between Suwanotaira Station and the hotel, the last one leaving at 5:30 p.m. So, I decided to walk with my 25 kg packs. Walking in the dark through the forest with my small flashlight, I heard a dog barking incessantly near a farm. Suddenly, there was a loud noise in a tree: a bear came down very quickly and started growling. I was terrified, stepped back, and used a bell to scare it away. This happened a five-minute walk from the hotel. The receptionist was surprised but took my story seriously, asking me for the exact location. I hadn't eaten since morning, and despite the kitchens being closed, she offered to make me onigiri and sake. They were the best I've had since arriving in Japan. I particularly enjoyed the hotel's onsen for relaxing after the long walk. It was my first time sleeping in a traditional Japanese room, and I loved the experience. Kimonos are available in all sizes. Thinking I could finally go to sleep peacefully, my phone received two national alerts. I had barely started reading them when a major earthquake struck. The entire room began to shake. I was worried because I had never experienced anything like it before. The alarms in my room and throughout the hotel started going off. The receptionist came to me several times to check if I was alright and to tell me not to use the elevator. The cleaning staff also came to check if the water was turned off in my bathroom. The alarms went off again at 6:00 a.m. and then 8:00 a.m. The receptionist came to my room to offer to drive me to the temple free of charge, something I had originally planned to do on foot, and then to take me from the temple to Hachinohe Station, because due to the earthquake, all trains between Suwanotaira and Hachinohe Stations had been canceled, as well as the Shinkansen trains departing from Hachinohe that I was originally supposed to take to Tsuruoka. I am extremely grateful for the support and kindness of the receptionist. She took care of me without me even asking. Thanks also to Yukuri Okobo for her kindness and for driving me to the temple and then to Hachinohe Station. Despite these very unusual circumstances, I highly recommend this hotel! You couldn't ask for a better welcome as a foreigner, and the rooms and onsen are superb! Arigatō Gozaimasu! 😊

호텔이 호수에서 조금 멀어서 작은 짐을 들고 다니기 좀 힘들어요! 😂 베개가 별로예요, 곰팡이가 피고 누렇게 변했어요😫! 간단한 간식 아침 식사가 있어요!

My first night in Japan 2024 Trip. In a faraway county. Very peaceful. I drove there alone in the darkness. Thought that there might be very few people there. But I met so many grandmas stayed there as a large group. Met them in onsen too. Very strange experience but very touch. Can feel of aging society. The ryokan guys also booked a local izakaya for me, so I had dinner easily, no need to nervous there won’t be a seat. The Room was so nice and big. Many hidden rooms inside. Would be much better if they haven’t prepared ice water for me during early winter. (I need normal temp water or hot water) Breakfast was great Overall was great I love this place. Very relax and no tourist. I spent the morning in a small garden in front of the hotel alone. Listen to water sound. Recharged my energy.

I booked a Japanese style club room which has a mini onsen. Room is quite spacious but low table is quite big too. Room is not soundproof, some noises from people who drinking could be heard. Public bath is big and it opens for external customers as well. It could be crowded. Food was excellent. Free flow drinks is a plus. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Hotel provides shuttle services between the hotel and Ajigasawa station.

역에서 10분 정도 걸어가지만, 길은 알기 쉽고, 짐이 많지 않으면 괴롭지 않을 정도의 거리라고 개인적으로 생각합니다. 컴팩트하고 새롭지는 않지만, 깨끗하게 청소되어 만족합니다. 수제 아침 밥, 저녁 카레 라이스와 빵, 커피 서비스 등의 환대는 고맙고, 추천하고 싶은 숙소입니다.

This homestay is really amazing place. The service is very good and makes you feel warm. The food provided is very natural, authentic wholesome food. More importantly, the the place is affordable and they don’t increase the price in the peak times.

호텔에서 5박 연박 이용하며 가격대비 만족스럽게 가족탕. 온천등 한개씩 체험하였고 조. 석식 포함하여 룸2개를 예약하고 매일매일 잘 이용했고 맛있는 일본 음식 체험했습니다. 문제는 마지막날 조식이용하다가 9시 마감시간 10여분정도 남았을때 가족4명이 식당 배려차원에서 식기를 미리 정리해주고 나가주자는 의미로 어머니의 남은 커피를 종이컵에 담아서 옆으로 나가려고 했습니다. 이때 주방 탁자를 두손으로 벌리고 짚은 늙은 할아버지가 알 수 없는 말로 소리를 우리들에게 크게 질렀습니다. 가족 모두들 정말 깜짝놀랐고 우왕좌왕했으며 우리한테 뭐라고 하는지 몰랐습니다. 우리는 일본어를 못하는 외국인이라 알아듣지 못했습니다. 자꾸 큰소리로 머라고 하는 말을 듣고 눈치 껏 커피를 다시 식기에 버리고 나왔습니다. 다른 이용객들도 있었고 이날의 경함은 최악이었고 가족 모두들 일본에 대한 이미지를 최악으로 몰아갔습니다. 잠시후 할아버지에게 물어보러 갔지만 영어도 못알아듣는척 대화를 회피하면서 들어가버렸습니다. 말이 안 통하면 식당의 규정을 친절한 번역기를 사용하던지 직접와서 행동으로 잘 안내했으면 금방 알게 될 것 을 주방에서 왜 두팔을 벌리고 임금님처럼 서서 소리를 지르는지 이해할수 없었습니다. 그리고 식당 직원들은 사람들 먹는 접시 수량 쳐다보고 다니는게 불편합니다. 음식 한개를 일일이 한개씩 접시에 담아내는 게 원인일 겁니다. 여행이 끝난지 꽤 오랜시간이 지났는데 문뜩 그때의 그일이 머리속에 떠오릅니다. 가족들도 그때의 이야기를 하곤합니다. 관광객의 즐거운 여행을 고지식한 잘못된 언행으로 망치지 않기를 바랍니다. 우리는 외국인이고 무시당하는 기분을 느꼈습니다. 이부분 프론트에 번역기로 짧게 얘기하고 여직원분의 계속적인 정중한 인사와 사과를 받았습니다. 출국시간때문에 할아버지와 다시 대화하지 못했고 사과받지 못한점이 다시 일본에 가지 않게되는 이유일것입니다.

Check in front desk service is polite and in patient. Room is clean and really big compared to hotel in Tokyo. It provide body clean facilities in bathroom and toilet. Also, we can enjoy tea and coffee in lobby. But one of bad thing is the hotel is far away from JR station, it hold a 20min walk, bit far away and carry a bulky luggage.
