Experience ancient mountains, cascading waterfalls, diverse plant and animal life, and endless views as you hike or bike miles of trails. There are even plenty of kid-friendly hikes for the little ones in your group. Let them get dirty without worrying about their clothes – there is a washer and dryer back at the house! If you’re more in the mood for downtown dining, shopping, and strolling in a quaint mountain town, explore Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, which are both less than 15 miles away. For the thrill-seekers in your group, head over to Dollywood (only 9 miles away) for fun rides, shows, and other family-friendly activities – they even have a water park. Other nearby attractions include several other amusement parks and water parks, plenty of zipline and aerial adventure courses, RainForest Adventures Zoo, Titanic Museum, the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, Five Oaks Riding Stable, golf clubs, and swimming and boating at Douglas Lake. Our cabin in the well established Sky Harbor Resort is located 15 mins from the Island in Pigeon Forge and 15 mins to Gatlinburg directly between the two on the Spur in the Smoky Mountains. Minutes from great attractions and restaurants, whether choosing Dollywood, Gatlinburg, or our favorite, the Island at Pigeon Forge, you will find more than enough to keep you entertained. On clear nights you can see all the way to Pigeon Forge where you will be able to watch the Wheel from the Island change colors off in the distance (best view is during Fall, Winter, and early Spring due to dense foliage during late Spring and Summer). You won't have to worry about looking out and seeing buildings everywhere, just peaceful mountain scenery. From the large windows in the living and kitchen areas, you will see nothing but trees, nothing to block your view.
