The reason for the title of my review is that although this hotel is part of a port, a mall-like area with offices and restaurants, and a marina, there is so much traffic noise (especially on cobblestones, an uphill and a curve) that it feels like one is in the middle of a busy city instead of being near a calmer waterfront. Not easy to find, even with GPS. My taxi driver had a heck of a time figuring out how to enter this place. The signage is not really good. The reception was adequate but not super friendly. I arrived too early and I wasn’t trying to abuse that in any way (not expecting any type of special treatment) but was underhandedly criticized by the front staff. They eventually agreed to keep my luggage safe while I perused the town until check-in time. The room was big with a large balcony which, unfortunately, overlooked a very busy street. There is absolutely no art on any of the bedroom walls, a bit drab looking. Not sure when this hotel was built but it’s showing its age. One neat thing though is that it has US and EU type plug-ins in the bathroom (nifty) and the towel warmer actually worked (a rarity when it’s not cold outside). Breakfast had something for everyone, vegan, organic, gluten free, nuts, fruits, meats, cereals, etc. The best part being that it was served on the top floor and one could choose to eat outside on the terrace overlooking the marina (weather permitting). Nice to sip coffee, a good orange juice, and eat breakfast with the salty sea air surrounding you. The gym is free to use but the swimming pool is only free to people who book suites or superior rooms. I only stayed for one night, waiting for my bike tour group to show up. The nearby town of Muggia (0.5-0.75km away) is walking distance away but a movie was being filmed there and most of the town was inaccessible to anyone so I decided to walk the nearby hills. The place has a bit of the feel of Venice with so many small areas filled with fishing boats floating near the streets and restaurants. The hotel had a very good space for keeping bicycles. Adequate pricing for the area and what you get. I would try something quieter should I ever come back.

We spent one night at the hotel travelling with friends on a biking trip. Comfortable bed, roomy bathroom with opening window. Large patio doors and balcony. As a matter of preference, we do not favour carpets in hotel rooms. The breakfast was very ample and good and the staff very nice and welcoming. Robert at the front desk has been especially nice and helpful with our tandem bicycle needs. This was overall, a good stay.

Was recommended by a family member who keeps his sail boat there and lives in Muggia and born there. The Postogna family my wife's family name is one of the founding families of this wonderful place. I would stay at this place if not staying with family. Wonderful experience, breakfast , pool and the local places for lunch, dinner were great.

The hotel was lovely with good size room and bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony. Seemed to have a very old shower which soon blocked, otherwise everything was great. Lovely breakfast with choice including vegan options and sitting outside. The town wasn't much to see but probably a good hotel for Trieste.

Hotel with a quiet location near a small harbour, some 2 km from the centre of Muggia with a good boat connection to Trieste. We specifically appreciated the excellent service from Robert the receptionist, who was very attentive to the fact that it was my wife's birthday and made us a reservation in an fine restaurant in the small harbour (il Covo delle Sirene). Thanks Robert.
