Our historic Irish Channel home has everything you would look for during your stay in New Orleans. Located just over 2 miles to the French Quarter, it is close to all you want to experience in New Orleans but also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The Irish Channel is a dynamic neighborhood full of beautiful architecture, award-winning restaurants and unique shopping.The spaceThe space you are renting is part of a double home - we (the owners) live on the other side of the home and there is a shared wall. The apartment has it's own separate entrance from the owners unit, and has a perfect living room and open fully stocked kitchen downstairs, with the two bedrooms upstairs. The full bath has a stand up shower (no tub), and it and the half bath are both located downstairs. There is an AppleTV, Roku, and guests are welcome to sign into their personal streaming platforms. There is no traditional cable TV but there is very strong internet. There are pretty steep stairs to get up to the apartment as this is a historic New Orleans raised basement home. Guests should be able to physically climb stairs if they are going to be renting our space. Our home is family friendly and kids are welcome! There is no full tub, but a baby tub can be provided and used in the stand up shower with the hand washer. For older children who can stand you can easily use the hand sprayer to bathe them. The 1st floor boasts original brick and beam walls, dating back to the late 1700's, with cozy and eclectic furnishings, connecting to a modern loft space thats sure to surprise you!THE FIRST FLOOR:- Open-concept kitchen, dining, and living room, stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a dining table for 8. The living room has 2 couches, 2 accent chairs, and 2 poofs that comfortably accommodate 8-10.- Kitchen stocked with cooking essentials, dual Keurig drip coffee maker with local New Orleans coffee pods.- 2 independent bedrooms, with queen beds, a dresser and closet storage.- Full bathroom with combination shower/ bathtub. The St. Charles Streetcar, where the rest of New Orleans is at your fingertips, is only about a 15 minute walk away— a beautiful scenic walk that includes the famous Buckner Mansion, seen in movies and TV like American Horror story. Walk a block to the famous Nola lunch spot, Turkey and the Wolf, or grab a bite even closer to your front door at the Dragonfly Cafe on one side or T&T po-boys on the other. Check out some of the many breweries located on Tchoupitoulas street, like Urban South Brewery, Miel Brewery & Taproom, NOLA Brewing and more!Guests will have full and private access to the BACK unit of this large 18th century home, which includes a downstairs 2 bedroom apartment, upstairs 2 bedroom loft space, shared breezeway, and private backyard. Guests will enter the property through a wooden gate into a shared breezeway located on the side of the home. This outside path leads directly to the entrance of the unit as well as a private backyard space. The breezeway is the only shared space, however there are shared walls as this is a multi unit property. The front unit of this home is rented as a mid-term rental, with guests ranging from one month to several months. Like many New Orleans homes, there is street parking only for this unit. There is often no difficulty parking as there are plenty of street parking spots available in front of the home, further down the block, or directly across the street. All we ask is that you do not park directly in front of the blue house located next door– we have great neighbors and want to respect their space as well!Please note: The front apartment of the building is occupied by a long term tenant, though it is completely private and has a separate entrance. The long term tenant will have occasional access to the shared breezeway however the backyard remains exclusively for guests of this space. QUIET HOURS are strictly enforced between 10pm-8am in order to respect all renting parties. While a mix of commercial and residential, our block has a quiet residential feel and we hope you and your group get to experience what it feels like to live like a local. With that being said, this is not the space for rowdy groups traveling for the sole purpose of partying. There are MANY nearby bars and drinking establishments to enjoy before settling down at the property. This home is old, fragile, and not a place for boisterous behavior, so we ask that you reserve that behavior for appropriate New Orleans establishments and adventures and are respectful to our neighbors and our space when returning home. The highlight for me was the bed – it's the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever had. The hotel has plenty of amenities, including a cafe downstairs and a large lobby area. You can tell a lot about the quality of service when something goes wrong, and in this case, it did. The hot water system failed, and the way the staff handled it was great. 방에 체크인하는 것은 산들 바람이었습니다. 고객 서비스 담당자는 그의 직업에 뛰어 났으며 심지어 내가 예약 한 투어에 대한 정보를 얻도록 도와주었습니다. 방 자체는 초라하거나 잘 어지고 냄새가났다. 매일 침대가 만들어진 점에서 하녀 서비스는 좋았지 만 침대 자체는 엉성했습니다. 욕조에 녹 얼룩이있었습니다. 담배를 피우기 위해 밖으로 나가려면 돈이나 담배를 요구하는 노숙자에게 폭격이 발생합니다. 호텔 앞에 서서 무언가를 기다리거나 그러한 괴롭힘으로 인해 신선한 공기를 마시는 손님을 보호하기 위해 더 많은 일을 할 수 있었던 것 같습니다. 나는 그 다음 손님이 담배를 피우러 갈 수있는 2 층에 발코니가 있다는 것을 알았습니다. 발코니에서 바라 보는 전망은 버본 스트리트 (Burbon Street) 바로 아래를 내려다 볼 때 훌륭합니다. 도시를 탐험하고 저녁 발코니에 가기 위해 며칠을 보내는 것이 나에게 일상이되었습니다. 어느 날 밤 발코니를 떠나 엘리베이터로 향하던 날 저는 벽에 앉은 여자를 쳐다보며 움츠러들었습니다. 그 여자는 눈 위에 종이 한 장의 사진이 있는 여자의 사진이 있었습니다. 2층에 화장실이 있어서 왜 그렇게 했는지 이해가 안 돼요. 그 사람이 어떤 사람인지 말하는 것 같아요. 저는 깜짝 놀랐어요. 그것이 아스토르에서 방을 예약하는 사람들의 유형을 나타낸다면, 그 호텔은 나에게 호텔이 아닙니다! 아니요, 나는 다시는 거기에 머물지 않을 것입니다.

The hotel was located in a great area. Service was professional and friendly. The dining room for dinner and cocktails was closed; bummer. The breakfast dining was limited. Belgium waffles were their specialty. Lunch items were a couple of soups, a salad, and 2 entrees. The rooms were clean however we had to change rooms due to a constant running toilet. The desk had mentioned compensation but we have not received any this far and we have yet to receive our email receipt.
