A pleasant family-run homestay near the northern gate of Pingyao Old Town, in a quieter area away from the main crowds. The hosts are very kind, friendly, and genuinely helpful, offering a warm and personal welcome. The complimentary transfer to and from the train station is very convenient, and small gestures like offering fruits, snacks and local vinegar as farewell gift add a thoughtful touch. The room is spacious, rather clean, and well-equipped, with modern amenities and even some smart home features. The bed is comfortable, although the bedding presentation could be improved slightly (ironed). There are also a couple of minor details—such as the bathtub not being firmly fixed—that could benefit from a bit more attention to ensure the safety. Breakfast is simple and local in style, which many may appreciate for its authenticity, though it is relatively basic. Overall, this homestay offers a comfortable and welcoming stay with a lot of potential. With a little more attention to finishing details and consistency, it could easily become an excellent choice for visitors.

Nice and spacious hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The room was as described and quite large. Very clean and fresh looking with a nice big shower. The breakfast was great too with many choices: from noodle soup and add ons to bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt and cake. Not to mention it is just across the main street leading to the ancient city. I can honestly recommend this hotel!

평요 운정헌은 정말 기대 이상이었어요! 고풍스러운 진상(晋商) 대저택 분위기가 가득해서 사진 찍기 정말 좋았어요. 위치도 최고였는데, 고성 핵심 지역인 서대가(西大街)에 있어서 '우견평요(又见平遥)' 공연장과 고성 주요 관광지까지 걸어갈 수 있어 구경하고 맛있는 거 사 먹기 정말 편리했어요. 호텔에서 무료로 성문까지 픽업 및 드롭오프 서비스도 제공하고, 짐 옮기는 것도 도와주셨어요. 서비스가 정말 세심하고 친절했고, 여행 동선도 자세히 설명해주셨어요. 게다가 '우견평요' 입장권도 할인된 가격으로 예약할 수 있게 도와줘서 걱정 없이 편하게 여행할 수 있었어요. 방은 깨끗하고 깔끔했고, 침구류도 부드럽고 편안했어요. 안뜰은 조용하고 한적해서 어르신이나 아이들과 함께 머물기에도 안심할 수 있었어요. 편의시설도 잘 갖춰져 있고, 아침 식사도 현지 특색을 잘 살린 맛있는 음식들이었어요. 가성비도 최고라 가족 여행객들에게 평요 숙소로 강력 추천합니다. 다음에 평요에 오면 꼭 다시 이곳에 묵을 거예요!

Il nostro soggiorno a Jing’s Residence, in famiglia, è stato davvero indimenticabile. l’hotel è una residenza storica splendidamente restaurata, dove si respira un’eleganza autentica e discreta. I’m very happy with the choice I made: the hotel is a beautifully restored historic residence where you can feel a genuine and discreet elegance. Every architectural detail is tastefully preserved, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the very beginning. The staff were always kind and attentive, and — something far from common in China, even in luxury hotels — everyone spoke excellent English. We truly felt pampered, with countless thoughtful touches and lovely little gifts that made us feel sincerely cared for. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and elegantly furnished in harmony with the historic setting. We also really enjoyed dinner: traditional local dishes, well-prepared and beautifully served. Breakfast, served à la carte, was equally enjoyable. The shared spaces — especially the inner courtyard and the restaurant — create a sense of calm and charm that perfectly mirrors the magic of Pingyao. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for authenticity, comfort, and outstanding hospitality.
