다카르 4성급 호텔

e voudrais faire quelques remarques sur axil hôtel ! apparemment la direction ne sait pas utiliser un tél ou un mail pour avertir des changements à l’arrivé !! j’arrive donc le jour de ma réservation et ceci en pleine nuit comme prévu , très fatigué par mon voyage et la surprise ma chambre est occupé !!! on me reloge dans un hôtel de catégorie très très inférieur , je dois me déplacer avec mes bagages à nouveau alors que je suis là pour mon travail !! ni excuses ni dédommagement , à mon départ on me fait payer une chambre qui n’est pas celle que j’ai réservé et on me dit qu’on me l’as compté au prix de l’hôtel de catégorie inférieur comme si cela n’étais pas naturel , on me présente ça comme un avantage !! les voyageurs jugerons !! un vendredi soir sans prévenir les clients de l’hôtel , une soirée dansante est organisée jusqu’à 2h du matin on ne pouvait dormir !! quand de plus les fenêtres absolument pas isolé du bruit nous donne la sensation de dormir dans la rue dès que l’activité matinale reprends !! vraiment je le dit sincèrement cet hôtel ne mérite pas ses clients !! une bonne note aux petits personnels d’étages , aimable et serviable ! le reste de la réception au bar …0/20 !

On the date of my arrival (May 20, 2024, at 8am) the receptionist who attended to me was rude, rude, unavailable and very aggressive. She did not provide me with information regarding access to the room, she refused to insist on my payment via Visa credit card, she refused to clearly write her name so that I could report her bad behavior. The room I stayed in did not correspond to my reservation instructions through HRS (from the World Bank), it did not have a view of the sea or pool. The mattress was extremely soft, without comfort, which prevented me from sleeping well, I needed a more rigid/orthopedic mattress, as I was at work and it is very important to be able to rest well and wake up without back pain. It was not a pleasant experience at all.

For the price, I expected average. This hotel is amazing. Gym, restaurant, cityscape view, and 5-star service. It’ in the center of the city so easy access to everything. Highly recommend if you’ll be doing lots of touring. Would definitely stay here again.

Its location by a cliff on the Corniche Est, close to the water and with great views from all rooms over the ocean, is quite special. One morning we had the pleasure of having a Black Heron (Egretta ardesiaca), which only lives in Africa, sitting for quite some time on the railing of our balcony. The room itself was fine. I mainly missed a light by the writing desk and the wardrobe was rather small with not much storage space for two. At least there was enough of it by the washbasin in the bathroom. The doors to the rooms are as on a ship. One of the best points here - maybe we were just lucky - was the fact that our room got serviced every day, when we had breakfast. Less happy we were with the other staff, with the food and with the bar. At reception they never looked up, when one entered, usually being busy with their chewing gum. The waiter in the restaurant reserved according to my wish a table for us, but this was not difficult, since hardly anybody ever had dinner here (unlike the restaurant 'Lagon 1' next door, by the same French-Senegalese owner). The waiter then came to take the orders with a toothpick in his mouth. The barman was unfriendly with a touch of arrogance. Most of the dishes in the menu card at the restaurant, as well as drinks from the card in the bar were not available. There were several beers mentioned, also some draught beers, but all they had was one kind of local bottled beer. Also except for the big TV screen and the area behind the counter the whole bar was dark, since apparently there was a problem with electricity. My wife gave back on the first evening at the restaurant the 'Boeuf grillé', ordered à point, since it was too tough to chew. At least she got instead a fish dish with 'thiof' (white grouper). The next day I was alone there, since my wife preferred not to eat. Thus I had first a 'Carpaccio de Poisson', which was good, and then a very dry 'Poulet grillé', accompanied by Gratin Dauphinois. Salt and pepper I had to get myself from other tables, since the waiter was absent. For breakfast there is a buffet with items not getting replaced, when all is used up, so it is better to show up early. Positive was the choice of soft French cheeses, even pork ham was to be had. Coffee came from a machine, which could not be used in self service, but had to be asked from a waitress. Until they got to know us the wrong type of coffee was given, but then we always had an excellent 'Café crème'.

J’ai passé un séjour formidable à la Villa Jade ! L’emplacement est parfait pour découvrir Dakar sans avoir à trop se déplacer. J’ai particulièrement apprécié être proche des plages tout en restant dans un cadre calme et reposant. La piscine était un vrai plus : idéale pour se détendre après une journée passée à explorer la ville. Mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner, qui était délicieux et varié, avec des options locales et internationales. C’était un plaisir de commencer chaque matin avec une vue agréable et une ambiance sereine. Le personnel était vraiment accueillant et toujours prêt à donner des conseils sur les endroits à visiter. En tant que voyageur seul, je me suis senti très à l’aise et bien pris en charge. Je recommande vivement cet endroit et je n’hésiterai pas à revenir lors de ma prochaine visite à Dakar.
