The Granary Resort

I came to Thailand to experience Thailand- Thai culture and learn about Thai history. After the hustle and bustle of Bangkok- i wanted a relaxing stay in Chiang Mai. The Granary provided all this and more. Set a little outside the main area of Chiang Mai, its still very accessible to all the action as a Grab to the city costed around 140 thb on average. Okay now lets talk about the setting and the room- the resort area is lovingly taken care of and upkept daily and it sits right on the edge of the river. The evening views are spectacular and the rooms themselves - with the semi outdoor shower, indoor bathroom with a tub and wooded and refined furniture feels like something out of a movie. There are so many places to relax around the property- if i were to host a retreat or a wedding, in Thailand, this is where id do it. And yet- i was a solo female traveler and this felt comfy and safe and just right for me. The manager Num was amazingly kind, attentive and thoughtful and the onsite chef cooked up delicious Northern Thai cuisine when i was there at night. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

De bungalows zijn enorm ruim en schoon, allen voorzien van airco. Super mooie buitendouche! Er werd goed schoongemaakt. Het resort staat te koop en dat merk je aan het onderhoud dat niet meer gepleegd wordt. De houten planken om het zwembad kunnen spontaan breken waardoor je je lelijk kan bezeren. Dat is niet acceptabel en gevaarlijk. Je wil eigenlijk dit resort dichter op Chiang hebben. Waarom geen pendeldienst vanuit het hotel? Wat echter zeer frustreerde is het feit dat we aangesproken werden op een moddervlek in het handdoekje. De manager wilde hiervoor 300 THB hebben omdat het volgens hem niet meer schoongewassen kon worden. Wat een klantonvriendelijkheid einde! Waarom op deze wijze je klanten bejegenen na 5 nachten met 3 kamers? Het sprookje had zo niet mogen eindigen.

Hôtel magnifique, dans un esprit très naturel et sain, assez chill, le personnel est très agréable et le manager est adorable, il parle parfaitement l'anglais et nous a conseillé pour plusieurs sorties en ville. L'ambiance est très familiale et calme, c'est un ensemble de plusieurs maisons en bois toutes très belles, lit confortable, baignoire et douche séparées, avec terrasse vu sur la rivière pour ma part, vraiment rien à dire c'était parfait. Pour ceux qui se poseraient la question, à part quelques moustiques il n'y a pas de problème avec les insectes. L'hôtel est un peu éloigné de la ville pour le côté calme mais reste quand même très accessible, nous avons utilisé des taxis pour nous déplacer (je recommande l'application "indrive", elle sert à appeler des taxis un peu comme "uber" en europe). Il y a également une super piscine et beaucoup d'endroits pour se reposer partout dans l'hôtel, hamac, transat, balançoire.. Et la nourriture du petit déjeuner était très bonne, nous n'avons pas testé les autres repas mais je suppose qu'ils doivent être tout aussi excellents. Vraiment satisfaite, l'hôtel était parfait !!
