We recently stayed at Taj Kumarakom which I had booked blindly thinking Taj would provide the best experience. Little did I know! The food was so bad that we ended up eating at Lake Resort Kumarakom for all meals. I would highly recommend that. In fact we were thinking we should have better stayed there. The manager at the reception, Priya, was quite cold, refused to upgrade our rooms which I wanted to do using the Taj Epicure room upgrade vouchers. While she claimed there were no rooms available, I spoke to the cleaning staff and found that two rooms were vacant. When we enquired about using Uber her response was again non-committal because obviously she wanted us to use the hotel cab and charge a bomb. The lights in the room kept going out and we had to keep readjusting the key to get power back. Thee seemed to be some loose connection. Overall it was such a poor and disappointing experience, I would not recommend staying here and wasting your money. When you stay in a five star it’s not only the facility but the people and customer service that makes the stay unique and worthwhile. In contrast we had an amazing experience at taj kochi who were really hospitable.

My stay at Kumarakom Lake Resort was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the impeccable attention to detail was evident, from the greeting on arrival to the beautifully maintained grounds to the thoughtfully curated houses. Every element was crafted to perfection, ensuring a truly luxurious stay. What set this resort apart was the personalized service and highly trained staff. Every team member went above and beyond, anticipating my needs and adding thoughtful touches throughout my visit and managing my expectations (I.e. regarding the visit to the bird sanctuary). I also loved the chance to try pottery. The buffet options were outstanding, offering an impressive selection of local Kerala dishes alongside international cuisine, all prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients. If you’re looking for a resort that combines luxury, world-class service, and cultural experiences, Kumarakom Lake Resort is the perfect choice. Can’t wait to return!

Best place in Kumarakom to stay in, had a great experience and we really felt happy with the service provided. Rooms were ultra clean and comfortable The staff were amazing and treat you like family, especially impressive service from Unni Kuttan. Truly Awesome and great experience. A nice resort at a reasonable price. Very quiet surrounding in a village. Large wood laden room with all amenities. Limited Food options, particularly for a vegan like me, but enough to sustain. Also, a nice vegetarian restaurant nearby for a change. Bird sanctuary and museums are a tuktuk ride away. Village walks and temple visits in the neighborhood are quite pleasant. Priya and Ananthu at the front desk are very warm, soft-spoken and extremely helpful in anything you need. Krishna the care-taker and Prince at the kitchen are kind and highly responsive Overall, a memorable stay !
