The Red Dragon House is a great location for those who wish to discover Ashland, along with the southern Rogue Valley, but still get that rural feeling while remaining only minutes from town. The single-story house is spacious at nearly 1,000 square feet, and features mountain views of the southern Rogue Valley. The house features a large open living room/kichen area, with lots of counter space, two well-appointed bedrooms and a bathroom shower, suitable for those with mild handicaps, and has three decks from which to choose, all on a property that is 5.2 acres, in a rural neighborhood, that's quiet. All this only five minutes from the nearest restaurants and markets, and ten minutes from Downtown Ashland, and the Mt. Ashland Ski Area is only 19 miles away!While the neighborhood is quiet, it should be mentioned that the property is adjacent to I-5, which makes getting to us easy, but does provide some road noise. Beautiful, large architectural home nestled in the Siskiyou/Cascade Mountain forests of Southern Oregon. About 15 minutes to downtown Ashland, 20 minutes to Mt. Ashland Ski Area and alpine hiking, and a three minute walk from the front door to the Pacific Crest Trail with meadows, forest and ridges looking out to many mountain ranges. This home is a peaceful, quiet, and beautiful getaway: close enough to Ashland to be convenient, yet surrounded by old forest and mountains and right on top of Siskiyou Summit. You'll the way the natural light floods the house with s feeling of being out in nature even when you're inside! Features fully equipped kitchen and dining (both formal and informal), two large, open living rooms, large sun room and two-person Ofuro hot tub overlooking the forest, 2-car garage, seasonal Swedish sauna house, and walking trails. For children, If you would like a full-size crib and high chair, please let us know. Kids call it 'the adventure house' and there is plenty of room to play indoors and out. Outdoor play structure, paved drive for bikes, lots of nature to explore.Concerns: We don't have any bears or mountain lions in this neck of the woods, so an evening stroll to watch the sunset is quite safe. We are above the elevations where poison oak grows. No one has ever gotten a tick on them, not even ourselves when we are doing work on the land. If ever needed, it takes the ambulance 10 minutes to arrive at the house (really!). Families and couples often spend weeks here, working remotely and enjoying nature during all the seasons. Professional companies have also found it a beautiful place for a work retreat (usually renting the log house as well). We have excellent Starlink satellite internet and cell phone reception is always very good. Callahan's Resaturant is a mile away, providing breakfast, lunch and dinner is you'd like easy access to a nearby dining. The town of Ashland is home to the renowned Shakespeare Festival. Smaller theater companies are also quite good. Being a thriving "tourist town," restaurants are outstanding, nearly mind-boggling in number and variety, making exploration fun. Children really enjoy the ScienceWorks Museum, Lithia Park and Wildlife Images. Children also enjoy riding their bikes (and little training bikes) on our long paved driveway, catching frogs by the pond, having 38 acres to explore safely. Sledding and building ice caves in the winter is fun! We recently built a big play structure with swings, slides, a little kitchen, etc. Also in the Rogue Valley are many wineries and wine country tours. The Britt Festival, Rogue Valley Symphony, and smaller venues (such as a few of the wineries), provide a wide choice of music performances. Rafting companies offer their usual adventures (in season) on the Rogue River. Noah's River Adventures is conveniently based out of Ashland. Mountain bikers enjoy the trails that connect from the top of Mt Ashland down to the town (often using Ashland Mtn Adventures bike shuttle service). The surrounding mountains, lakes and rivers provide manifold opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming and exploring. Seven Pacific Crest trailheads literally surround us. One is a hop, skip and jump from the house. The trailhead for Pilot Rock is a few minutes' drive. Thankfully, not that many people come up to walk or run. On the weekends there may be three cars parked at a trailhead and during the week almost no one. Mt Ashland's alpine forest road and PCT trailheads are accessible by foot and car from about May through mid-November. Many opportunities exist for winter sports. For alpine skiers and snowboarders, we have Mt Ashland Ski Area (20 minute drive) and Mt Shasta Ski Park (1.5 hour drive). For x-country skiers and snowshoeing, a multitude of choices which I'm happy to share with you (and the maps you might need). For back-country skiers the areas behind Mt Ashland offer endless ridges and bowls, Mt McLoughlin and Mt Shasta provide interesting terrain as well. And there's good old sledding with your kids from the house and also up on the mountain. We are lift/lodging partners with Mt Ashland Ski Area, so you can purchase lift vouchers from us while you are here. During all the seasons, our homestead is a good place to find comfort, relaxation, great outdoor exercise and inspiration in the midst of beautiful old forests and meadows and mountains. Whether you are looking for a retreat or a time with family and friends, you can settle in and enjoy. And... kids can play freely and there's plenty of room to roam!The spaceThe homestead is located on the Siskiyou Summit just south of Ashland. The 38 acres of forest (unlogged) are the site of the historic old wagon (and early automobile) road, now our driveway, crossing the summit from Oregon to California. This has been our family home since 1982, and we've been caring for this peaceful land ever since. We are part of the bird flyway and our forest is home to thousands of birds. Twenty to thirty different bird species can be heard in one sitting on the deck or by the pond. We had a wonderful event last spring when two baby Great Gray owls hatched and the family is still here. Animals are primarily deer, squirrels and fox. On the property there are three houses (the Log House, the Forest House, and the Pond House), all far enough away from one another to be private and secluded.We live permanently on the property with our dog, Kellen, in the Pond House. We enjoy meeting people and will be available if you need anything during your stay. The Log House will also be rented at times, has a separate driveway and parking area with forest in between. The house has a key pad entrance so you can check in if we're not home when you arrive. The garage door also has a keypad. The central heating and air conditioning is adjustable to your comfort. Many guests like to enjoy a fire in the wood stove on cool evenings. All details for getting to the house, getting into the house, using the WiFi, house rules, and everything else will be available to you upon booking in a detailed itinerary section.Guest accessGuests will have access to the Forest House, the seasonal sauna, the gazebo, the pond, and the entire property. This home is a cozy, quiet, peaceful getaway: close enough to Ashland to be convenient, yet completely surrounded by old conifer forests and mountains. Guests have taken to calling it "hygge," after the Danes. Features include private covered parking, fully equipped kitchen, large private covered deck overlooking the forest, sun room, Japanese ofuro hot tub, seasonal Swedish wood-fired sauna (October-mid May), and walking trails. If you need a full-size crib and high chair, please let us know. The sun room is like being in a big, glass tree house. Also, an outdoor play structure for children, a long paved drive for bikes, and 38 acres to explore.Concerns: there are no bear or mountain lions in this neck of the woods, so an evening stroll to watch the sunset is quite safe! We are above the elevations where poison oak grows. And no one has ever gotten a tick on them in these past forty years (we're high up, at 5,000,' and the snow load prevents them from thriving as they do at lower elevations). If an ambulance is needed, it takes them just ten minutes to arrive. Ashland is a lively and comfortable town. The Shakespeare Festival is renowned for its world-class theater. Restaurants are mind-boggling in how many there are, and how good! Rafting companies offer their usual adventures (in season) on the Rogue River. Noah's River Adventure is conveniently based out of Ashland and has an excellent reputation. Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from the house brings you through meadows, conifer forests, wildfowers, flowering shrubs, and along ridge tops. Mt Ashland's trails and forest road are easily accessible, great for alpine hiking, becoming well-known for mountain biking, and snows sports and sledding in winter. Our homestead is a good place to find freedom, peaceful relaxation, exercise and inspiration in the midst of forests, meadows and mountains. Lots of space for children to play freely, and room to roam! Kids love riding their bikes of all sizes on our private paved road, being that there are no cars to watch out for. Mt Ashland is offering summer day camps for kids of different age groups. Check out their website!Mountain bikers often use the shuttle services offered by Ashland Mtn Adventures.Back-country and Nordic skiers will find a great variety of possibilities (in addition to the ridges and bowls behind Mt Ashland) and I'm happy to share these with you, and maps as well. A day trip down to Mt Shasta ski resort and back-country terrain is a good plan too. The alpine trails behind Mt Ashland are snow-free usually until mid-November and the huge wildflower bloom lasts much of the summer. Driving through the front gates you will find this Gorgeous and Stunning, completely refurbished, updated farmhouse originally built in 1860. This home and property have been painstakingly refurbished and decorated over a two year period by the Owners. Situated within a working ranch, take a step back in time, with all of today's modern amenities. Huge area to play and roam about the outside of the home. One of Jackson county's oldest, iconic barns in the distance, on the property, provides a great back drop for photo opportunities! surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains. Inside is spectacular with 5 beautiful bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The Owners purposely kept the old farmhouse feel, while updating every inch of the 4500 square feet. fully updated and functional kitchen as well as a huge game room with a full size pool table as the centerpiece, Foosball table as well! 7 large Flat screen TV's throughout the home. One of the greatest aspects of the home is the big brand new back deck! Large propane fire pit sitting area, new BBQ, new 6 person Hot Tub with lots of additional seating looking out to the old barn in the distance! Just a fantastic space outside to relax and enjoy your time at the Historic Dunn Ranch. Just inside the door from the deck is the TV room! Large 75" wall mounted TV with ample sitting areas to enjoy your favorite shows, or watch the game! We don't think you will want to leave, but if you do the City of Ashland is minutes away. Checkin was nice and easy. Price was good. Room was ok. It’s near the main drag but traffic noise was not bad. Room had a lot of storage available, which we didn’t need or use. There were no clothes hangers. Also no Kleenex. Shower was pleasant but cold/hot are reversed. Location is near SOU. All in all, the low price outweighed the hanger & Kleenex lack. I’d book it again but bring my own of the 2 items.

침대 시트에 나쁜 얼룩이있었습니다. 프론트 데스크에서 변경을 요청했습니다. 직원 부족으로 인해 오랜 시간이 걸렸습니다. 아침 식사는 평균이었습니다. 작은 온수 욕조. 아이들은 몇 시간 동안 수영장을 넘었습니다. 의심스러운 우리는 다시 여기에있을 것입니다.

호텔은 매우 개방되어 있으며 모든 것이 좁아지지 않습니다. 실제로 도시의 한 지역에있는 4 개의 건물을 가로 지르는 것입니다. 프론트 데스크 사람은 매우 도움이되었고 오전 9 시경에 일찍 내 방에 체크인하게되었고 방은 경이 롭습니다 !! 자쿠지와 발코니가있는 스위트를 얻을 가치가 있습니다. 아마도 내가 머물렀던 가장 멋진 이그제큐티브 스위트 일 것입니다. 그리고 나는 나의 체재를 연장하고 또 다른 시간을 돌려 줄 것입니다. 최고의 호텔과 서비스의 상위 10 개 목록
