EEddieBA Beautiful and Peaceful Stay at Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve, Keursee
We recently stayed at Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve, Keursee in Plettenberg Bay and had a lovely experience overall. When I booked, I didn’t realize that it was a fully self-catering property. On the booking site, it looked more like a nature resort with restaurants on-site, so it came as a surprise when we arrived and learned that we needed to bring or buy our own food. We ended up driving about 8 km into town to pick up some groceries, which turned into a fun little outing in the end. Still, it might be helpful for management to make this setup clearer on the booking sire for guests, especially those from abroad who might not be familiar with South African Travel habits.
We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and were warmly welcomed by the owner, who gave us the keys and explained everything. The unit itself was amazing, very clean, modern, and well maintained, with a stunning view over the sea and Plettenberg Bay in the distance. At night, the lights from town were beautiful, and the whole area was peaceful and quiet. The environment felt safe, and we really enjoyed the fresh air and the sense of being surrounded by nature.
One small note: when we arrived, the lady at reception asked my partner (who is Chinese) in Afrikaans if she spoke English or Afrikaans. It wasn’t a big issue, but it might be something to be mindful of when welcoming international guests, as not everyone understands Afrikaans and its not easy to decipher specially for those who do not speak English as a first language
A few other suggestions for management: upon entering the unit, there’s a printed rule sheet. While I completely understand and respect the need for house rules, the way they’re written felt a little strict and unwelcoming. For example, it mentioned sanitizing hands every time you enter and reporting neighbors if they break rules, and more. The tone could perhaps be softened to feel friendlier and more guest-oriented.
The only other drawback was the Wi-Fi, which was extremely slow during our stay. I wasn’t able to use it for basic browsing and had to rely on my phone’s international data via hotspot when I was using my laptop.
Despite these small issues, I would still recommend Alkantmooi to others, especially those who enjoy self-catering and want a quiet, upmarket place surrounded by nature. It’s a wonderful place to unwind, cook your own meals, and enjoy the incredible views over Plettenberg Bay.

One of the standout features for me was the secure parking facilities. Knowing that my vehicle was safely parked on the premises provided an added sense of comfort during my stay. It's evident that the hotel takes security seriously, contributing to the overall feeling of safety and peace of mind.
Now, let's talk about the breakfast – it was nothing short of amazing. The variety of options available was impressive, catering to a range of tastes and dietary preferences. The quality of the food was top-notch, and the presentation added a touch of sophistication. It's safe to say that the breakfast alone is reason enough to consider this hotel for your stay in Cape Town.
As for the room, it was nothing short of stellar. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The cleanliness and maintenance of the room were also noteworthy, reflecting the hotel's commitment to providing a high standard of accommodation.
In conclusion, my experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town - Upper Eastside exceeded my expectations. The combination of breathtaking views, excellent staff, secure parking, and an amazing breakfast made for a memorable stay. IIK Chan호텔 위치가 최고로 회의 장소와 가깝고 V&A 해안가까지 도보로 약 20분이 소요됩니다. 또는 버스를 타고 케이프 타운을 돌아다닐 수 있으며 버스 정류장도 호텔과 매우 가깝습니다.
그러나 솔직히 호텔은 실제로 깨끗하지 않지만 방은 충분히 큽니다! 개조 된 방을 요청하는 것이 좋습니다. 오래된 방은 정말 낡았습니다. 좋아하지 않을 것입니다.
그리고 호텔에서 제공하지 않았기 때문에 슬리퍼와 이빨 브러시를 가져 오는 것이 좋지만 호텔을 지불하여 얻을 수 있습니다.
아침 식사는 괜찮지 만 호텔 근처에 버거 킹이 있습니다.
그리고 외출할 때 특히 야간에 조심해야 합니다.

리리뷰어The overall experience was good, friendly staff and good installations, we liked the breakfast and the gym, also great views to the table mountain and lions head from the room and the pool. Location wise also great, walking distance to most things in the region. However, some structural issues should be mentioned. The windows are old, without proper noise isolation - they even open fully which is unusual for a hotel. We could hear the wind blowing very loudly, also the music from clubs around there during the night. The bathroom has a major design flaw and every shower unavoidably results in a completely wet floor.
Despite that, room was very cozy and comfortable.

Great location - a short drive to the waterfront and close to Table Mountain, Lions Head and the Botanical Garden where Uber will get you there quickly and for a good price.
Staff were very good
Breakfast was cooked very well and with good quality ingredients and a varied selection. It would be better if they had soft bread rather than the heavier one provided (althouh this could be a more European variety i havent come across before).
The room was homely, as is the whole building (a bit of a British Grade 2 listed building kind of feel).
Nice views over capetown in some rooms and a mountain view from the back.
Room has heating and air con for all seasons.
Cons
As mentioned in a previous review, the room is quite dusty so if you are messing around with plugs behind the bed or tv, it's a challenge not to breathe in the dust.
I think this could be a SA thing rather than the hotel itself but they only provide 1.5l of water which for a week is not enough, even for a solo traveller. You have to pay for any more. I have never come across this in 25 years of travel across 35 countries but again, i know there is a water issue in SA sometimes and I believe the tap water is drinkable (although I wouldn't attempt this as a tourist).
Bathroom towels not replaced - just left to dry which doesn't work particularly well in winter.
The photo of the hotel being near blue water is a little deceptive - obviously it is not near a beach and they don't suggest so but the body of water across the road is a water storage facility (currently empty) so don't expect tropical views. Having said that, if you get a city view room, the sunrise is right in front of you and a perfect time lapse opportunity as the scenery changes dramatically during the sunrise. Stunning experience.
Overall, I would stay again and recommend the hotel which is in a quiet location.

우리는 우리 방이 준비되지 않았다는 것을 알기 위해 도착했습니다. 일단 장소가 여전히 어수선해 보였고 욕조에 양동이가 있었고 가구는 원래 위치로 잘 반환되지 않았으며 무료 품목이 사용 된 것처럼 보였습니다.
두 번째 밤에 흔한 일이 발생했지만 예방 조치가 취해지지 않은 것 같았고 우리는 충전 가능한 빛을 찾기 위해 세 층의 계단을 우리 방으로 올라가기 위해 전화 조명을 사용해야했습니다. (분명히 그러한 경우에) 배터리가 없었기 때문에 쓸모가 없었습니다. 남아프리카 시민으로서 우리는 전력의 불확실성을 완전히 이해하지만 이 숙박 시설의 비용과 일반 고객을 위해 우리는 더 많은 장소가 있을 것으로 기대했습니다.
식사 시간은 우리가 도착했을 때 받은 환영 시트 세부 정보와 비교하여 구내에 있던 직원의 편의를 위해 조정되었습니다. 우리가 거기에 있었던 3일 동안 현장에 명백한 관리자가 없는 지원 직원이 전체 장소를 운영하고 있는 것 같았습니다(우리는 주말에 머물렀고 최고의 시간이라고 가정할 것입니다)
건물 앞에는 약 4개의 주차 스포츠가 있지만 잠재력에 익숙하지 않아 종종 조금 더 멀리 주차해야 했습니다.
전반적으로 위치는 주요 긍정적이었습니다. 가격을 고려할 때 우리는 더 나은 편의 시설을 갖기를 바랐고 설명이 믿게 만든 것과 달리 숙소에 수영장이 없기 때문에 이 숙박 시설의 프로필을 수정할 수 있기를 바랍니다.
