"We had a two night stay in a Premium room that was spacious, clean and well furnished with a sofa, chair, desk and table. Bottles of water were provided. View from the room was nice with a part view of the bay. The public areas were pleasant with a large outdoor terrace with a view over a small plaza and some restaurants nearby. The staff would kindly serve drinks to guests on the terrace. Breakfast was served downstairs and was adequate but nothing special. Although the description of the hotel stated that a restaurant was available, at the present time the restaurant is closed. All staff were welcoming and helpful. The day we checked out we had a very early departure at 5 am and the staff had coffee available and a very generous breakfast bag for us to take with us. This was very much appreciated. The reason I have rated the hotel very good rather than excellent is that room key cards were not functioning so every time a guest needed to access their room someone from reception had to accompany them and open the door. I'm sure the problem will be fixed but it lasted the entire time we were there."

"The Fauna hotel is really quirky. Just be aware there is no vehicle access to the hotel so be prepared to drag suitcases along a few cobbled streets. Also the building is on multiple levels & there is no lift so be warned. I upgraded from a standard to a superior room & the upside is a magnificent view over the town & harbour but that’s about it. The room is nothing special. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant but it was chilly in the dinning room! For dinner I had Atún acevichado ( Tuna Cheviiche) which was possibly the best food I have eaten in years so the chef deserves a pay rise!!"

"This place is top class...I spent 5 nights at this lovely boutique hotel in April of this year-2025-and it was just perfect...My room was very large and serviced daily...Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food available...Sleep quality was perfect....I particularly liked the extra touches in the room-the in-room safe,the free water bottle,etc....The staff were super friendly and in this regard I want to thank the owners Alex and Anne as well as Jonathan,Benjamen and Baz...I felt valued as a guest and the staff were always available to help with knowledge and advice...Anne even organised a taxi for me on the morning I was leaving to take me to the bus station....Definitely worth returning to...Top marks....10 out of 10."

"Lovely views across the bay from the 3rd floor balcony, which is available to all guests. A characterful hotel, where we received a warm welcome from Karina and an excellent recommendation for lunch at the nearby Gente de Mar restaurant. Great location for walking around Valparaiso. We met a couple at the hotel who had arrived a few days before us with colds and they said how wonderful Karina and the manager Pablo had been in looking after them whilst they were unwell. We met Pablo the next day, and indeed he's an excellent host, showing very generous hospitality and even leaving me his number in case we needed any assistance whilst we were in Chile. "
