Misty Hills Villa Kadugannawa boasts the most incredible view over local mountains, best enjoyed if you are taking a cooling dip in the (small, but perfectly positioned) infinity pool! My husband and I were very well looked after during our short stay. The hotel staff served lovely breakfasts, organised two dinners for us and booked a tuk tuk for a day trip to Kandy. They also surprised me with a beautiful little cake on my birthday and even sang to me! The only small points I would make is that the dinners are not actually cooked on site - and that the staff did not offer to clean or make up our bedroom during our 3 night stay. Nevertheless, much kindness and warmth was demonstrated towards us and we loved the rural position of the property.

제가 예약한 방은 3~4명이 잘 수 있는 다락방 침실이었습니다. 공용 공간과 객실 인테리어 및 관리 상태는 좋았습니다. 위치는 시내 중심가에서 멀지 않았지만 도로와 철도와 가까워 밤을 제외하고는 꽤 시끄러웠습니다. 온수 스위치는 옷장 안에 숨겨져 있었고 체크인 시 켜져 있지 않았으며, 이에 대한 추가 설명도 없었습니다. 프런트 데스크는 밤 10시에 문을 닫았고 연락도 되지 않아 찬물로 샤워를 해야 했습니다. 욕조에는 작은 도마뱀이 있었습니다. 저녁 식사는 수프를 제외하고는 꽤 별로였습니다. 제가 주문한 두 종류의 생선은 모두 너무 익어서 퍽퍽하고 쓴맛이 났으며, 아마도 탄 것 같았습니다. 오후 2시에 체크인했을 때 세탁물을 맡기려고 했는데, 다음 날 아침 체크아웃 전에 찾으러 가면 추가 요금이 부과된다는 말을 들었습니다. 하지만 전날 밤 10시에 같은 브랜드의 다른 호텔에 세탁물을 맡겼더니 다음 날 아침 체크아웃 전에 무료로 세탁, 건조, 다림질까지 되어 있었습니다. 또 하나 이상했던 점은 체크아웃 시 만족도 설문조사를 프런트 데스크 직원이 작성하고 제가 서명해야 했다는 것입니다. 이전 호텔에서는 솔직하게 작성해 달라고 요청했고, 높은 점수를 받았을 경우에는 개선 방안을 제안해 달라고까지 했었습니다. 서비스 마인드의 차이가 확연히 드러났습니다.

이 호텔은 캔디 중심부에 위치해 있으며, 불치사에서 도보로 단 2분 거리에 있습니다. 저희는 유일한 대통령 스위트룸으로 업그레이드되어 캔디 호수 전망을 감상할 수 있었습니다. 호텔은 꽤 오래되었고, 엘리베이터도 아주 오래된 종류였습니다. 누군가 내린 후 문을 닫지 않으면 엘리베이터가 멈춰버립니다. 객실도 오래되었지만 기본적인 편의시설은 갖춰져 있었습니다. 다만 객실과 복도 사이의 방음이 거의 되지 않았습니다. 다행히 밤에는 조용했습니다. 저희 객실에는 저녁 식사와 아침 식사가 포함되어 있었는데, 모두 오전 7시부터 10시까지 뷔페식으로 제공되었습니다. 저녁 식사는 정말 형편없어서 추천하지 않습니다. 아침 식사는 그저 그랬습니다. 굳이 저녁 식사가 포함된 객실을 선택할 필요는 없을 것 같습니다. 에어컨 바람이 침대에 직접 닿아서 침대 러너를 깔아 바람을 막았습니다. 오후 12시에 체크아웃할 수 있어서 매우 편리했습니다.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view. The staff were amazing, friendly, and always helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. A small tip for future guests — if you want the scenic view of the beautiful Kandy Lake, book the Superior Room, as the Deluxe Room faces the road. Also, take note that after 11:30 PM there is no room service, and food delivery platforms may not be available either due to closures or limited riders/drivers at night. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a great experience.

The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

Kangti 외곽의 산 정상. 산을 오르는 길은 가파르고 험준하지만 호텔에 들어서면 작고 절묘하고 인간미가 가득하다는 것을 알게 되었습니다. 레스토랑은 Kangti 계곡을 내려다보고 있으며 경치가 매우 좋습니다. 서비스 태도는 제안할만한 가치가 있습니다 : 우리는 아이를 데려오고 기본적으로 모든 호텔에 15-20 나이프의 추가 요금을 추가하지만 여기서는 면제되고 어린이에게 아침 식사를 제공했습니다. 특히 하이라이트는 저녁 뷔페였습니다. 원래는 주문하고 싶었습니다. 매니저는 그들에게 문제를 일으키지 않는 정신으로 자조를 간신히 주문했습니다. 결과는 예상치 못한 놀라움이었습니다. 그냥 ......... 정말 세심하고 맛있습니다. 특히 별 다섯 개짜리 칭찬하지 않는 뷔페를 며칠 먹은 후, 나는 확실히 놀랐습니다. 다른 사람들은 말하지 마십시오, 권장 사진은 처리되지 않았고, 빛은 그다지 좋지 않으며, 실제로 사진보다 낫습니다.

Оставались на одну ночь, приехали в 8 примерно, до 9 работают стойка регистрации, помогли отнести все сумки, с виду кажется отель новым, ещё где-то красят, где-то что-то доделывают , бассейн был совершенно пустой, мы купались одни и было ощущение, что это вся наша вилла, заказали рис с овощами, был вкусный и огромная порция, проживанием остались довольны, был кондиционер, вентилятор, чай, кофе, целый кулер воды, шампунь

Overall the hotel is very nice, but we were unlucky with the room. We booked for a room with two single beds, when we arrived it turned out to be a room with one queen bed. We asked for another room, and the new room was very quiet le and shabby room unfortunately.

All staff members were friendly, breakfast is quite simple, location is excellent, close to the Temple and the lake.I qualify the hotel as a 3 star hotel, definately not as a 4 star hotel!

The owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!
