Excellent resort close to Sossusvlei with great food and accomodation and ultra solicitous staff. We had an excellent lunch in the desert after a sweaty walk in the dunes. Paulus organised a wonderful sundowner for us. It was an unforgettable experience!

The lodge is attractively presented and situated on the edge of a hilly outcrop which makes for a spectacular backdrop. Thomas and his staff gave us a very warm welcome. The absolute highlight of our stay was being guided by Lucas around Sossusvlei. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and we enjoyed getting to know him over lunch which was delicious and beautifully laid out under the shade of a tree. He also dropped us off for sundowners on one of the evenings which was another highlight. The stars have to be seen to be believed. Our airconditioning unit struggled to cool our room in the extreme heat of the afternoon, but otherwise the accommodation was very pleasant and spacious. My only disappointment was that on Christmas morning we were made to feel like we were in the way on the verandah of the lodge when staff began cleaning around us. We moved inside,, but there we were also in the way, as vacuuming and carpet cleaning was taking place. Staff apologised for the activity and noise. Whilst we understand the need to keep the environment clean , I don’t think guests pay top dollar to be made to feel this way, especially when there is nowhere else to go. Nonetheless, a very nice lodge with great activities which we can certainly highly recommend.

We had just the best experience at this lodge. Our guide was fantastic and the staff team were attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and our stay was just the best! Thank you Hoodia. You made the start of a fantastic two week holiday in Namibia very special.

We booked 3 nights and two of the only 11 tented chalets for us 4 through Expert Africa and did enjoy every single minute of our stay at Hoodia. The owners Henreza & Thomas with their dedicated team and attention to details have created the ultimate desert lodge experience. Special mention to the food. Under the professional & expert direction of our guide Paulus, we enjoyed the sundowner and learnt a lot about the desert ecosystem during the excursion to the dunes and petrified trees. Instead of staying inside the park or closer to the park, It is definitely worth the money and the about 30’ to 45’ max additional driving distance to the park entrance. You get so much more privacy, quality service, luxury and attention. We can highly recommend.

Sadly, I was disappointed with the service and the owner’s conduct. The attitude was rude, and it created an uncomfortable environment. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. There are far better options available with a more respectful approach to customers.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a friendly, welcoming environment. There are certainly better options available where you’ll receive the respect and customer service you deserve. If you're seeking a positive experience, it’s best to look elsewhere. Stay away from this hotel to avoid unnecessary stress and disappointment.

This is a small (12 rooms) boutique lodge in a wonderful setting where the staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very African in style fitting perfectly in the setting. We opted for the Sossusvlei Excursion with exclusive “Out of Africa” Dune Picnic Lunch - absolutely amazing and definitely worth the very early start. Our guide was super knowledgeable pointing out wildlife that as tourists we would have missed. Our geography ‘lesson’ with map drawing on the sands was really quite something and explained a lot about why Namibia is as it is. It is defined worth going up the dune known as Big Daddy - the views are spectacular and it is reasonably hard work as your feet are slipping on the sand but if you are reasonably fit you will be fine. The salt pan setting is quite remarkable. What really rounded off the trip was the lunch under a tree - beautifully set up with table cloth, carpet and proper set table. The food like all the food at the lodge was fabulous. This trip is a must. As is the sundowner trip which we did the following evening. More fabulous scenery and dressed table with great wines. - no attention to detail is lost. I cannot recommend this place enough - all the staff seem to really enjoy what they do and want you to have a wonderful time. We certainly did and it will stay long in the memory. Thanks to all for making it so special.

Hoodia is an ideal place for a few days in the Sesreim area, ideally located near to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. The staff are just lovely people and the food was better than expected, we ate the best meat ever! The sundown tour is breathtaking. Thank you to all at Hoodia for making my birthday treat so very special.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Longe Hotel. While the location might seem convenient, it was overshadowed by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the owner. From the moment we checked in, the owner was dismissive and acted as though any question or concern was an inconvenience. Simple requests were met with rude comments, and instead of helping us feel welcome, the owner made us feel like we were a burden. The lack of basic customer service skills is shocking for a place that advertises itself as a welcoming environment. I would not recommend staying here unless you're prepared to deal with unpleasant and unprofessional treatment.

숙소 답변: Dear Guests Agnieszka We really always do appreciate feedback from our guests. However - we also always just would like to have the full story related. You requested to dine outside on the porch at the restaurant on the first evening. On this request - the owner did inform you that unfortunately this is not possible. The dining area has huge doors that are open in the evenings to let in the cool breeze. We do not want to have the guests dine outside as this firstly causes damage to our furniture. Also - Hoodia runs a very small and intimate operation and it simply is not practical for various reasons to have half the guests dine inside and the other half outside. On the 2nd evening you asked again to sit outside and again we explained to you that this was not possible. When we returned to the dining hall - we found you moving and damaging our furniture - even after asked not to do so. Also - when arriving at your room we found you hanging clothes that you washed up on the mosquito net over the bed. Damaging the mosquito net. Clearly you had no regard for the lodge's house rules nor for the furniture or the guests that had to use these after you. And when this was addressed - you also decided to throw in lies about theft. That is unfortunately always sad.... We will continue to welcome our guests and allow them as much as possible within the boundaries of what is possible. And thankfully 99% of the guests we do have at the lodge enjoys their stay with us and appreciate the fact that the furniture and rooms are well looked after.

A high quality lodge for a high price (all inclusive). I was a great experience with very nice food, drinks and the highlight is the sundowner with drinks and snacks. Besides a very nice day trip to the Sossus Vlei with a high quality lunch. De rooms were very comfortable and luxe (in and outdoor douche). We had a very nice stay and I can recommend this lodge.

Isn’t it nice when you are greeted by the staff and the owner with a moist towel and a Rooibos tea after a long drive over the gravel roads of Namibia? This is how the stay at the Hoodia Desert Lodge started. Thomas and his team made us feel welcome, pampered and relaxed the entire time. After the meet and greet, Thomas shared details of the lodge, the schedule, breakfast and dinner at the lodge. Very relaxed. The restaurant is top notch with numerous wines and drinks included with dinner in the boarding price. The food is excellent quality with several choices in the daily menu. The rooms are wonderful, well thought through and designed with love. The rooms have heating and a/c. The bathroom even includes a second, outdoor bath tub / shower. The organized tour to Sossousvlei was probably the most memorable tours we had in Namibia. Lukas, our guide shared lots of details about the geology of the area, the dunes, and the 4x4 experience. He prepared lunch for us in the desert under a tree, It was fantastic. The most romantic experience was the sundowner, organized by the team on a hill next to the lodge. They setup tables for each group of their guests, apart of each other, so we could enjoy the sunset over the desert, while having snacks and our favorite drinks. If you want to get pampered, we can strongly recommend Hoodia as a perfect lodge and a place from where to enjoy Sossousvlei excursions.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hoodia Desert Lodge, which was booked for us by our safari company, Safari Frank. The lodge was comfortable and well decorated. The room was comfortable and private. I’d definitely stay again. We enjoyed every meal, the dining room was cozy. My friend is gluten intolerant and they made gluten-free bread for her, which she said was the best she’s ever had. All the staff was outstanding, but a special shout-out to our amazing guide, Paulus. He’s very knowledgeable and just a lot of fun to be with. The sundowner was very special. We took part in the excursion to Sossusvlei, which you don’t want to miss.
