도착과 출발 모두 월도프 아스토리아로 예약했는데, 원래 시내에 머물고 싶었지만 교통이 너무 안 좋았어요. 룩소르에서 돌아와서 다시 이곳을 예약했습니다. 체크인 당일 결혼식이 있어서 좀 시끌벅적했지만, 다들 멋지게 차려입었더군요. 룩소르에서 돌아와 이곳에 오니 마치 현대 사회로 돌아온 것 같았습니다. 제가 장담하는데, 이곳이 이집트 최고입니다! 게다가 옆 힐튼 호텔과 연결되어 있어서 중국 음식(노벨 하우스)도 있고, 물론 다른 맛있는 음식 선택지도 많습니다. 가격도 합리적이에요. 중국 음식 셰프는 비록 이집트인이지만, 중국 힐튼 호텔에서 교육을 받았다고 해서 맛이 정말 좋습니다! 가격도 합리적이고요. 저희의 중국 입맛을 살려주었어요. 볶음면, 새우, 핫앤사워 수프, 볶음밥, 가지 요리 모두 맛있습니다😋 정말 추천해요! 전반적으로 아주 좋았습니다! 프런트 데스크 직원들도 친절하고 전문적이었어요. 다들 긍정적인 평가를 해주는 분위기였고, 불친절한 사람은 없었습니다. 물론 전 세계적으로 달러가 통용되고, 조국이 강해지고, 우리 국민들이 여유로워지면서 언제 어디서든 자신감을 가질 수 있게 되었죠. 이집트는 방문할 가치가 있고, 평생 꼭 가봐야 할 곳입니다!

뉴 카이로에서 컨퍼런스가 있어서 AUC 근처에 묵고 싶었어요. 이 호텔은 아주 새 호텔이라 필요한 편의시설이 다 갖춰져 있어요. 솔직히 카이로 기준으로는 가구 품질이 정말 좋아서 놀랐어요. 침대는 정말 편안하고, 전자레인지와 TV도 잘 갖춰져 있어요. 금고도 있고 짐을 놓을 공간도 있어요. 저는 4층에 묵었는데 아주 조용했어요. 헬스장과 수영장도 있는데, 아직 이용해보지는 않았지만 관리가 잘 되어 있는 것 같아요. 새 호텔은 보통 처음엔 괜찮다가 나중에는 질이 떨어지기 마련이니까, 이런 청결함과 기준이 앞으로도 계속 유지되기를 바랄 뿐이에요.

3인실 1박에 1,000위안이 넘게 나오네요. 공항과 가까워서 이곳에서 하룻밤 묵기로 했다는 후기를 봤는데, 보안검사가 엄격하고 사람과 짐도 모두 분리되어 있어요. 이집트의 5성급 호텔은 보안검색이 있어요. 나머지는 잘 모르겠지만 일단 위치부터 좀 길고 좁은 골목에 있어요. 먼저 보안 검색대를 통과해야 합니다. 주변 지역은 고급 자동차가 많고 아침 식사도 제공하는 레스토랑이 있습니다. 거기에서 피자와 파스타를 두 번 먹고 호텔을 통과합니다. 보안 한번! 호텔에 택시 타는 걸 도와달라고 했어요. 공항까지 가는데 비용이 몇 파운드나 들었는지는 잘 기억나지 않지만 당시에는 비행기 타는 게 무서워서 그냥 놔뒀어요. 10분도 안 돼서 T2공항에 도착할 것 같았어요! 이집트 전역이 그렇듯이 객실은 오래되었습니다. 저는 이미 이집트 호텔에서 10일 이상 아침 식사를 했으므로 아침 식사 포함을 선택하지 않았습니다! 서비스가 별로 열성적이지는 않지만 중국인을 차별하지도 않고 팁을 줬더니 웃더군요! 카이로의 교통 체증으로 인해 정말 쓰러질 수 있습니다! 모든 사람은 공항에서 줄을 서기 위해 충분한 시간을 확보해야 합니다.

We stayed here for two nights on two separate bookings, We had requested on the first day of check-in to join the beds, but they had not done it on the first day, and neither on the second day. They came and handled it at 8:30pm on the second night. The TV was not working on the first night and they told me they would let the IT department fix it on the second day, but that did not happen either. When we were leaving for our day out on the second day, we told the reception to handle everything while we are away, I guess they completely forgot.

호텔의 온수는 훌륭하고, 수압과 온도를 조절할 수 있습니다. 음식은 꽤 맛있고 선택의 폭이 넓습니다. 커피와 웨이터 음식만 주문하면 되고, 쌀로 만든 발효주로 만든 죽 같은 요리도 있습니다. 우리는 하루 24시간, 매시간 무료로 공항 픽업 서비스를 제공합니다! 운전자분이 정말 훌륭해요! 그들은 멀리서 우리를 맞이해 주었고, 우리의 짐을 옮기는 것을 도와주었습니다. 환경은 좋고, 공작새가 20마리 정도 있고, 대형 수영장이 2개 있고, 풀 바도 있어요. 방음효과는 보통입니다. 밤에 잠을 잘 때 공작의 울음소리가 들렸습니다. 처음에는 고양이 울음소리인 줄 알았어요. Wi-Fi는 EGP 160의 요금으로 이용 가능합니다.

In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
