The location is superb, right in the palace at the golden gate. Host goes over and beyond providing clear instructions and welcoming us, and even helping us with our luggage, and providing excellent recommendations for food and where to visit. There’s even free drinks in the fridge and cleanliness is tip top. Room design is clever making use of the space very well. Extremely happy with it!

Excellent location right in the centre of great restaurants and the tourism hotspots. The room and bathtub are great. Good wifi and television box for plenty of viewing options. Rooftop garden/outdoor area is amazing at sunset (see attached photos). A couple of things to prepare yourself for which are out of the control of the hotel owners: there are 90 steps to the floor where the rooms are so would not recommend if you are physically challenged, and the restaurants in the square do have music till quite late which is audible in the rooms so light sleepers may like to try ear plugs. Sound did not bother us and the walk up the stairs was good for our health! The whole of the city has bell ringing at various times during the day (7am, Midday, 8pm) No need to set an alarm to wake up in the morning!

While the host has a great attitude, is genuinely helpful, and offers a welcoming touch with free brandy shots, the property falls far short of expectations for the price. Guests should be warned in advance that it is located on the 2nd/3rd floor with no lift, making carrying heavy luggage up 2.5 flights of stairs a major issue. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was unusable during my stay; the host is aware of the problem but hasn't fixed it, even though a basic Wi-Fi 6 or mesh router upgrade would easily solve it. Ultimately, you are paying 5-star hotel prices for a B&B experience with no reception desk, no lift, no luggage assistance, and an early 10:00 AM check-out.

It's near the city center. The room is clean and nice, but it's a little inconvenient for me that the electric kettle is outside the room. I forgot to bring my keys and was locked outside once. Fortunately, they were so nice and came to open it for me. People there were great, just remember to bring your keys.

Pro - very close to the Golden Gate and is easy to find. Check in is straightforward. The room is on the first floor above ground so it wasn't the most difficult thing to lift our luggages up. Con - (1) the actual room looks nothing like the pictures online. The online pictures (taken with wide lens mode) show the room to be much larger and brighter, whereas the room is in fact very small and relatively poorly lit. For one, the bed is literally two footsteps away from the door, and we were struggling to find space to open our luggages. (2) One of the beds in the room is in fact a sofa bed, but the property did not declare this when we booked. We spent a lot of time trying to book places which do not use sofa beds but actual beds, and so we can't help but feel that we were misled and misrepresented to. (3) There is a bit of noise. The property is right next to the road and near a pub with some rowdy youths at times. (4) Facilities are minimal. There is only one chair, and the table is very small. Everything else is basic. Nothing luxurious about it despite its name and the photos. (5) There is no lift at the property. We would not have chosen this property if we had a second chance.
