On the very edge of the Garden District with its storied streets and mysterious mansions there is one 1840's grey lady that is both wonderful and Odd above all others. Hidden in plain sight but long forgotten, the manse and its secret gardens loom behind the tall mossy walls. Passing through the the locked iron doors you are greeted to a luxurious hideaway unique to anything outside of the French Quarter.Once inside the gates, you enter an enormous garden terrace that overlooks the main yard with lots of places to sit and relax as well as an antique outdoor dining table. Here you will find a lovely pool surrounded by old lavender stones with a fountain spouting from the creeping fig covered walls.Two large antique French doors on the terrace open to the charming Living Room and Dining Room with very high ceilings and terra-cotta floors and a working fireplace. These rooms are decorated with European antiques and also modern sofas for comfort. Passing through an arched doorway there is a generous kitchen with tall wooden beamed ceilings, a 14' long stone topped island and painted exposed brick walls. The tall French doors in the kitchen provide beautiful light and great access to the pool just outside. The Kitchen is well equipped with a La Cornue range, Subzero refrigerator, large apron sink and Waterworks faucets. There is also a powder room off the kitchen.Still on the ground floor passing through the Kitchen doorway you enter a lovely bar area which can be closed off and there is an additional truly charming Bedroom on the site of the original Stable at the Lodge. This Downstairs Bedroom also has a sofa and its own private courtyard and entrance...perfect for someone who wants a bit more privacy or a nanny etc.Upstairs in the main house are the rest of the bedrooms including a generously sized Master Suite with lots of closets and an iron balcony. In the Master Suite the ceilings are 17' tall with multiple 10' windows and wooden shutters for privacy. All of the floors upstairs are antique hardwood. There is a lovely working (gas) fireplace for cooler nights as well. It is furnished as the rest of the house with many details and antiques as well as some smart modern touches. The Master Bathroom is en-suite Art Deco with a large marble soaking tub and separate shower. The house is unusual in that two of the bedrooms operate as their own private suite area which can really be wonderful when one wants to have privacy. Downstairs is very open and both major rooms open on to the large terrace and create a spectacular openness onto the gardens which, when the weather is good, is really wonderful. Great location at the garden district. Easy access to the tram ride. Staffs were friendly. If you like the old new orleans flares this would be the perfect hotel for you We had the suite. Beds were very comfortable. Extra living room was perfect. Don't miss out on their amazing rooftop bar view. However the hotel needs some remodeling. Carpet is old, bathroom outlet isn't working. Bathroom overall needs update. Needs more light fixture. 1 elevator is not operating. Another one was down for half a day.

整潔衛生，房間超大，帶廚房，各種餐具、鍋、微波爐、冰箱齊全。衛生間很大。整個大樓裝修挺新的。酒店居法國區邊上，去傑斐遜廣場1公裏，酒店邊還有一個拉法耶廣場，位置不錯！

It was Mardi Gras week and the hotel was super busy. Pool was great though it’s a little small. Location was fantastic, right smack on bourbon street. They do lack basic amenities like in-room complimentary bottled water for a four star hotel. Desire restaurant has got great food and especially the oysters. They are also a dog friendly hotel, but pet toilet was artificial grass / green carpet located at the basement carpark, which wasn’t very convenient and it smells bad.

You can tell a lot about the quality of service when something goes wrong, and in this case, it did. The hot water system failed, and the way the staff handled it was great. It was fixed within a few hours, and partial refunds were offered before I even needed to request one. Otherwise, a perfect trip

방에 체크인하는 것은 산들 바람이었습니다. 고객 서비스 담당자는 그의 직업에 뛰어 났으며 심지어 내가 예약 한 투어에 대한 정보를 얻도록 도와주었습니다. 방 자체는 초라하거나 잘 어지고 냄새가났다. 매일 침대가 만들어진 점에서 하녀 서비스는 좋았지 만 침대 자체는 엉성했습니다. 욕조에 녹 얼룩이있었습니다. 담배를 피우기 위해 밖으로 나가려면 돈이나 담배를 요구하는 노숙자에게 폭격이 발생합니다. 호텔 앞에 서서 무언가를 기다리거나 그러한 괴롭힘으로 인해 신선한 공기를 마시는 손님을 보호하기 위해 더 많은 일을 할 수 있었던 것 같습니다. 나는 그 다음 손님이 담배를 피우러 갈 수있는 2 층에 발코니가 있다는 것을 알았습니다. 발코니에서 바라 보는 전망은 버본 스트리트 (Burbon Street) 바로 아래를 내려다 볼 때 훌륭합니다. 도시를 탐험하고 저녁 발코니에 가기 위해 며칠을 보내는 것이 나에게 일상이되었습니다. 어느 날 밤 발코니를 떠나 엘리베이터로 향하던 날 저는 벽에 앉은 여자를 쳐다보며 움츠러들었습니다. 그 여자는 눈 위에 종이 한 장의 사진이 있는 여자의 사진이 있었습니다. 2층에 화장실이 있어서 왜 그렇게 했는지 이해가 안 돼요. 그 사람이 어떤 사람인지 말하는 것 같아요. 저는 깜짝 놀랐어요. 그것이 아스토르에서 방을 예약하는 사람들의 유형을 나타낸다면, 그 호텔은 나에게 호텔이 아닙니다! 아니요, 나는 다시는 거기에 머물지 않을 것입니다.
