The master bedroom boasts generous proportions, providing a retreat-like atmosphere for relaxation and tranquility. Its accompanying bathroom offers convenience and comfort, completing the suite with style. Beautiful circa 1831 storefront home with 2,050 sq ft. of luxury. Second floor living quarters with a gourmet kitchen, living room, study, master bedroom and bath with antique claw-foot bathtub and more. Original pine flooring and a combination of old and new; you will fall in love with this home. First floor has second bedroom, bath, laundry and more living space. Off-street parking and a private side entrance under a beautiful brick porch in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg.The Space:Located just 3.8 miles from Fort Lee and less than a mile from Virginia State University, also within easy walking distance of downtown Petersburg's locally owned dining, entertainment and other shopping options. House is a short drive to Southpark Mall and convenient to dining and entertainment.Centrally located with the mountains to the west and ocean beaches to the east and so much more in every direction, our house is an ideal place to stay.This house includes all furniture, housewares, linens and toiletries…everything but the groceries, although there might even be a few food items when you arrive.Guest access:The entire house is available for your use. Additional laundry, soaps, shampoos and cleaning supplies are located in the closet in the first floor bathroom across from the washer and dryer. The first floor laundry hamper is in the bedroom closet. An iron and ironing board are located on the second floor in a cabinet next to the writing desk.This is a non-smoking, drug free house. Guest agrees to a payment for an additional flat cleaning fee of $150 if the house smells of smoke or drugs when the guest checks out. Neither the guests nor any invitee are permitted to smoke or otherwise use products including but not limited to vaping, tobacco, and drugs while on the property.Each bathroom is stocked with four bath towels, four hand towels and four washcloths. Should you decide to take any of these articles, guest agrees to a payment in the following amounts: ~ BATH TOWELS $12.00 ~ HAND TOWELS $ 9.00 ~ WASH CLOTHS $ 6.00Keys - When you arrived, there were four keys in the house. One in the lockbox and three in a glass on the pub table on the second floor. Place one key in the lockbox on the entry door and the other three in the glass on the pub table in the kitchen. Should any key be missing after your checkout, guest agrees to a payment of $100 to cover the cost of rekeying the lock on the door. This circa 1830 storefront home was recently renovated. The second floor living quarters, fully furnished with a gourmet kitchen, super living room, study, large master bedroom and bath complete with antique claw-foot bathtub, sliding warehouse doors and much more can be yours for a surprisingly low price. Complete with original pine flooring and furnished with a combination of old and new touches. Walking distance to historic Old Towne Petersburg and ten minutes to Fort Lee.Old Towne Petersburg offers numerous locally owned shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences. Antique lovers can peruse the many shops where you can find almost anything including many one-of-a-kind items. History buffs can visit the Petersburg Battlefield, Civil War Museum, Siege Museum and many more sites.Colonial Williamsburg is a short drive. Six Flags and Busch Gardens are available for a day's outing. Petersburg is minutes from the main gate at Fort Lee and only 25 miles south of our state capitol, Richmond, VA.Whether your plans are for a day, a week or longer, there is plenty to see and do, all knowing you have a beautiful place to come home to and relax.Check-in Procedure:One key that opens the side porch door will be placed in a lockbox on the side porch door. Additional keys can be found in a glass on the pub table on the second floor. The combination to the lockbox will be sent to you in a message prior to your check-in date. Set the four dials to those numbers, and push down on the spring release lever to the left of the dials to open the lockbox. Please DO NOT remove the lockbox from the door. Just close the cover and change the numbers. This key will not work on the front door.Check-out Procedure:Place one key in the lockbox, close and lock the box. Just passing through on the way South. Went to service desk, they were extremely polite and courteous, so kudos for that. Then they hit me woth the price tag of $159 for the night. ”NO WAY” is all I thought, so I went online and found a booking here on Trip.com for $102. I jumped on it. I was tired, hot, and a little aggravated from the trip, so the price on Trip.com was a relief. I started looking around and thats when I realized that the amenities all cost. They had complimetary coffee, so YaY! Got up to the room, it was clean. Unloaded for the night, and it was finally showertime! I do my thing, get into the shower, which was a handicapped shower. It had a chair and a detachable showerhead for those hard to reach places. Well, this is where the problems started. This showerhead was supposed to be able to be locked into position on the pole provided, you k ow, for people that can stand. Well, the damn thing didnt lock. Nope, it stayed at crotch level, and so I was forced to use the detachable showerhead. Whatever, a shower is a shower, and boy, this shower was GREAT! Then, after my shower, I discovered that they must have wanted me to take a bath afterwards. This is because the entire bathroom floor was flooded from my shower water, and the floor was definitely not graded towards the drain, so to clean it up, one would either need a wet/dry shop-vac or a squeegee, and wouldnt you know it, I left both of mine back North, hundreds of miles away! I ended up using the towels to basically squeegee the water to the drain and get the floor cleaned up. I wasnt aware they kept their guests on the housekeeping payroll! My partner was unable to shower cause it would have caused another mess. So, besides the fact that if they could have charged for tap water and air, they would have, and the pool waiting for me after my shower, I had a really good stay. The bed was so comfortable I had trouble getting out of it in the morning, and the complimentary coffee turned out to be fresh. The staff understood my concerns and were extremely friendly about providing their information for when I contacted trip.com for my refund. 6.5/10
