Having taken a late flight to Cork we took a one night stop-over. The hotel seemed fine and all was of an expected standard. My only concern was that although it was in keeping with local room rates, it was very expensive for a few hours sleep.

Went to the bistro for late lunch. Setting is nice and the there is ample parking. The welcome was friendly enough. We chose soup of the day and the chowder for starter, followed by pasta with prawn and the beefburger with fries. The soup was nice and tasty, no complaints there. The chowder, however was not, it was weak and runny and tasted like potato soup from a packet with a few pieces of white fish thrown into it without seasoning. Terrible, especially considering the variety of fresh fish available in the immediate area. The main courses were ok, the pasta was cooked well with a savoury sauce and plenty prawns and was well seasoned. The burger was tasty but the meat, which was of good quality was unfortunately cooked until totally dry, pity. The staff were friendly and attentive and the bill was around 80 Euro including drinks. Note..the prices on site do not correspond completely with those on their website menus.

The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us. We ordered room service as that suited us with two little ones under two, the food was amazing. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. The room was lovely and beds were very comfortable. The cot provided also seemed very comfortable.

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating a family wedding. Food excellent and staff very friendly. One member of staff who really stood out for us was Don the Night porter . Such a gentleman who was most friendly, helpful and funny . He really made our stay extra enjoyable and would most definitely make you want to revisit.
