Harbin is known as the capital of ice and snow art in China. The 100-year-old Zhaolin Park in Harbin (founded in 1906 as the "Board Park") is the cradle of Chinese ice lamp art. In February 1963, the first ice lantern parade in Harbin opened in Zhaolin Park. Since then, Zhaolin Park has held an ice lantern parade every year (once a year, "Cultural Revolution" period interrupted). Harbin Ice Lantern Park Fair is the earliest and largest outdoor ice lantern art exhibition in the world, and has become a large-scale outdoor ice lantern art exhibition of local traditional projects.
