Horsetail has a long history. In the first year of Emperor Guangwu's founding of Wu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 years), merchant ships from all over the country passed through Horsetail to Fuzhou and began water trade. The population of Horsetail area grew. In the Five Dynasties, the King of Fujian tried to develop foreign trade and initially opened up Mawei Port. (1) Mawei District is located in the southeastern part of Fuzhou City, about 20 kilometers away from the urban area. It looks to Taiwan in the east, Guangdong and Guangxi in the south, Zhejiang and Jiangxi in the north, and the North Bank of the lower Minjiang River. The "Golden Triangle" economic circle has warm and humid seasons and obvious marine climate. At the end of 1997, the total area of the region was 274 square kilometers, covering Mawei Town, Tingjiang Town, Langqi Town and Luoxing Street. The total number of households was 441,000, with a population of 155,000. (1) (2)
