Luoxing Tower is a landmark ancient building in Mawei, Fuzhou. According to Mindu Ji, Luoxing Pagoda was built by Liu Qiniang in Lingnan (now Guangdong) of Song Dynasty. Legend has it that Qiniang was originally Li's daughter who married Liu Qilang. Because her husband died when he was stationed in Fujian, Qiniang heard the news and sold her property. She came to Moxinshan to build this stone pagoda and prayed for her husband's blessings. Luoxing Tower is 31.5 meters high, 7 stories and 8 corners, each with stone railings and drainage eaves. Over the eaves, there are eight Buddhas in the town. Under the eaves, there are wind bells. The sea breeze blows and jingles.
Horsetail has a long history. In the first year of Emperor Guangwu's founding of Wu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 years), merchant ships from all over the country passed through Horsetail to Fuzhou and began water trade. The population of Horsetail area grew. In the Five Dynasties, the King of Fujian tried to develop foreign trade and initially opened up Mawei Port. (1) Mawei District is located in the southeastern part of Fuzhou City, about 20 kilometers away from the urban area. It looks to Taiwan in the east, Guangdong and Guangxi in the south, Zhejiang and Jiangxi in the north, and the North Bank of the lower Minjiang River. The "Golden Triangle" economic circle has warm and humid seasons and obvious marine climate. At the end of 1997, the total area of the region was 274 square kilometers, covering Mawei Town, Tingjiang Town, Langqi Town and Luoxing Street. The total number of households was 441,000, with a population of 155,000. (1) (2)
Fuzhou Mawei is probably a relatively biased area, taxis to go there will have to add 10 yuan empty fare. But here is a place with history. Mawei Shipping Administration may not have heard of it. Mawei Sea War should be impressive. There is a Shipping Administration Museum here. Unfortunately, time is limited and it can not be observed. Not far from the Shipping Museum, there is a Maweita Park, which is free of charge. It has a good view and is worth visiting.
Beautiful environment, birds and flowers, very comfortable, very good.
A District in Fuzhou is at least half an hour away from the city centre by bus. It has a well-planned scenic spot with boat administration, a concentrated scenic spot, a marine administration museum, a naval war memorial hall, a fortress and a Luoxing Pagoda. The local government has a very good plan and it's worth seeing.
Howard Johnson Hotel, the only five-star hotel in Mawei District
Very good, convenient, punctual, call again next time!
As one of the most famous naval battles in Chinese history, the Mawei Sea War has a very tragic historical story. However, the tourism development in this scenic spot, which has historical value and patriotic education value, does not seem to receive enough attention. I think it's worth visiting here, but before I go, I have to do my homework well: consult some historical materials of the Mawei Sea War and find some explanatory materials of the Mawei scenic spots, which is very helpful to understand this period of history, otherwise I just can't understand anything. It can be done this way: Mawei Sea War Memorial Hall (Must be on Mount Limit), Shipping Museum, Luoxing Tower Park. Now all tickets are free, which Fujian has done very well! It's commendable! ____________
