At 1 p.m. on August 3, 2016, the bus took us to Jordan for a quick run from Petra to the Dead Sea. We had a bumpy road and stayed at a hotel by the Dead Sea at 5 p.m. Hurry into the room, put down your luggage and head for the Dead Sea. This area of hotels gathered and the Dead Sea swimming pool was a short walk from the back door of the hotel. When the water is clear, the cobblestones are filled in, and the waist is deep, people lie on their backs and float on the water. The Hotel brought out a magazine, pretended to read and take pictures. After 15 minutes, go ashore and rinse with clear water. The water that accidentally enters is salty. The water that enters the eyes burns even more. Return to the room and wash with soap. The Dead Sea is so exciting that we go to the beach in the evening, from 6:30 to 7:20, waiting to see the sunset of the Dead Sea Lake. The lake is quiet, without waves and even no ripples. On the other side of the lake, there is a small hill. The sun slowly descends, and the light turns from white to red. It shakes the golden light of ten thousand feet off the lake. There are two suns in the sky and in the water. There is a swimming pool under my feet. There are many bananas and coconut trees around it. There is no shadow of the desert and no speed of the Dead Sea. High-pitched speakers play music, some Arabs sit smoking cigarettes, after discussion also to taste, light, but also accompanied by the aroma of fruit. At 7:45 a.m. on August 4, I went to the Dead Sea again. For more than an hour, I first applied the mud on my body. The swimming pool was provided. A bucket was put on, and I smeared all over my body. After 15 minutes, I washed my skin and felt smooth. Swimming in the Dead Sea, from the shore to the deep sea, can only backstroke, not breaststroke, there is water entrance too salty, very want to drink water, the sea water into the eyes want to wipe, but can not wipe, can only close your eyes. Fortunately, you can stop and stretch your hands and feet to the sky. Arab ladies also come to soak in the Dead Sea. They take off their robes, wear long trousers and sportswear. Their heads are still wrapped. Some are just soaking their feet. Young people are also muddy, soaking in water and opening up a little. The Dead Sea is 80 kilometers long, 18 kilometers wide and 1020 square kilometers in area. It has two of the world's deepest saltwater lakes, with an average depth of 300 meters and a maximum depth of 415 meters. The lowest Lake in the world, the lake is 422 meters above sea level. The Dead Sea contains 8.6 times as much salt as normal seawater. There are only bacteria and green algae in the water. There are no other organisms. On the big rocks along the shore, there is a layer of white flower salt. There are no flowers and plants on the shore and surrounding areas, so the fate "Dead Sea". High salt content, people will not sink into the water, but also can not swim, can only float upside down, this is the Dead Sea. The main reason for the formation of the Dead Sea is that evaporation is much greater than rainfall. It is located in the desert area, with an average annual rainfall of 50 mm and an evaporation of 1 400 mm. The river water flowing into the Dead Sea evaporates, leaving minerals behind. The Dead Sea is approaching death. The Jordan River water supplied to it is decreasing day by day. The lake surface is getting smaller and smaller, but the salinity of the water is getting higher and higher. In the past 50 years, the lake surface of the Dead Sea has dropped by 17 meters. Scientists fear that the Dead Sea will disappear from the Earth in the near future. Israel and Jordan have a plan to divert the Red Sea into the Dead Sea. It is also the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, which is still under discussion.
