Hue’s Imperial Citadel is the main draw of Hue and a major attraction in Vietnam, has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage for its irreplaceable values in history, culture and architecture.
Huacheng Imperial City, also known as Dae, is located in the center of Hue Ancient City and is the Forbidden City of the Sui Dynasty in Vietnam. It was destroyed in the Battle of Hue in 1968. It has not been completely repaired here, and the ruins of the wall reveal the historical sensation of vicissitudes.
The construction of the Imperial City is based on the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is like a miniature version of the Forbidden City in Beijing, so there will be a feeling of deja vu when visiting. There is a Forbidden City in the Imperial City, and the Forbidden City is divided into front and back. Formerly the emperor's courtesy of government affairs, the emperor's residence, the Kunming Palace where the emperor lived, the Guangming Hall where the emperor lived, and other Shunhuiyuan where he lived. In the Imperial City, there are also flags, the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the palaces and temples of the emperors. The whole building is quite spectacular. It is the largest and most complete ancient building complex in Vietnam and has been included in the World Cultural Heritage List.
