During the Spring Festival holidays in 2018, my family and I came to Fuzhou for a one-day tour of Yunding, Yongtai China. The starting point was just in front of Fujian Grand Theatre on the south side of May 1 Square. Come early and take a stroll on May 1 Square by the way. May 1 Square, the landscape design is scattered, Chairman Mao's statue is backed by the mountains, overlooking the square to the south. In the center of the square, on the white jade banner altar of the Han Dynasty, there are high flagpoles and five-star red flags flying in the wind. Wuyi Square is a heroic square with a long history, and also a sacred square in the minds of Fuzhou people. There have been many historical events here. Today, lawns, flower beds, fountains, statues and open spaces have become the main plaza for people to visit and rest.
Wuyi Square is an important place for political and cultural activities in Fuzhou. There are many meaningful buildings or scenic spots around it, such as Gaoxing Hotel, Science and Technology Museum, Yushan Tang, Yushan Scenic Area, Baita and so on. The square is empty and there are some meaningful sculptures. Large lawns, and under the green trees, there are often activities of citizens.
Wuyi Square is the center of Fuzhou City. Now it is a good place for citizens to enjoy their leisure. On the North side, it is across the road from the important reception department of Fuzhou. There are many people singing and dancing in the evening. It can be seen that the happiness index of Fuzhou people is very high. There are many people singing in the South with accompaniment music and Piano sound, and they are singing in Mandarin. They feel a little dismayed. Fujian dialect is one of the seven major dialects. How can we not hear the Fujian flavor? The greatest feeling is that Fuzhou people are blessed!
May 1 Square is about the same as Shanghai People's Square, where the largest theatres are located. The statues of tea girls in Sanshan, Yishui and Bamin are very distinctive. At first glance, they know that they are in Fuzhou, where the local people are playing in the cool.
It's worth visiting; just in the center of Fuzhou, there are many hotels nearby, such as Shangri-La (Five-Star Hotel), Yushan Hotel, Sunshine Holiday Hotel, and so on; of course, there are many restaurants, Japanese, Hong Kong and Fujian cuisine; there are many attractions nearby: Yushan Scenic Spot, Wushan Scenic Spot, Sanfang Qixiang, and so on; at the holidays, they become theme parks: today's Lantern Festival, that's right. It's a lamp show...
The scenery of May 1 Square is still good. To the north of the Square is Yushan, a hill with profound cultural background. Chairman Mao's statue stands on the back of the hill, waving to people in all directions. Chairman Mao's statue was carved out of 28 pieces of Han Baiyu and assembled. Each piece of Han Baiyu weighed several tons. The inside of the waving arm was welded with steel bars one by one. Thanks to the protection in place, Chairman Mao's statue is still shining. The flag-raising ceremony held in Fuzhou Plaza on May 1st and November 11th is solemn and solemn, which is worth seeing.
In the evening, small groups such as square dancing, street dancing and singing gathered in the square, which was very lively. Unlike other places, the square is far from the residential area, people can enjoy the noise. Many young and middle-aged people are seen dancing at a faster pace. The most distinctive feature is a spontaneous chorus:
The scenery here is good. There is a statue of Comrade Mao Zedong in the north, a commercial district in the east, and a mountain scenic spot in the northwest. It is also a place of heroes with historical traditions. Heroes emerged from the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China.
In China, every city has a big square. And the big square in Fuzhou people's memory is May Day Square. May 1 Square is facing the mountain, the white pagoda on the mountain, and the ancient city wall below the mountain. People who yearn for together tell about the past of this ancient city for more than 2,200 years.
