Pingyao Ancient City: Pingyao Ancient City is located in Pingyao County, central Shanxi Province. It is a national 5A tourist attraction. The ancient city of Pingyao was built in the reign of Xixuanwang (827-782 B.C.). It is one of the four most well-preserved ancient cities in China (the other three are Langzhong, Lijiang and Shexian), and it is also an outstanding example of Chinese Han nationality cities in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ancient city of Pingyao is bounded by the city wall. The style inside and outside the city wall is quite different. The streets, city buildings, County offices, shops and bodyguard bureaus in the city retain the original appearance of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Outside the wall is a new town, a modern building. The ancient buildings in the city and the modern buildings outside the city are integrated and reflect each other, forming a beautiful picture scroll of the ancient city, which is amazing.
