If you’re planning a trip to the Maldives—especially if you’re seeking a local island experience with genuine warmth and unforgettable hospitality—look no further than Baa Sand Hotel on Kudarikilu Island. After a memorable first visit to Fulidhoo and Thinadhoo in 2023, I returned this year with my family. Our choice of Kudarikilu started with a glowing review I read about Baa Sand. I contacted Ali, the hotel manager, via WhatsApp and he kindly gave us a live video tour of the rooms, pool, and rooftop terrace. Even in the dark, we could feel the welcoming atmosphere—and we knew we had found our place. Since our flight arrived on a Friday night (a weekend day in the Maldives when public transport doesn’t operate), Ali arranged everything: a great-value transit hotel in Malé, airport pickup, and speedboat transfer the next day. Considering we booked just days before departure, his help was invaluable. Upon arrival, we were welcomed at the jetty by the entire team—it felt like a homecoming. Hasan gave us a tour of the island, helping us settle in instantly. What made this trip even more meaningful was bringing my elderly mother, who has long dreamed of seeing the Maldives. She doesn’t speak English and has health conditions, but Ali and his team ensured she was incredibly well cared for. One night, my mother struggled to sleep due to missing her regular medication. When this triggered a heart issue, Ali personally took her to the island hospital. The staff were ready upon arrival, and Ali stayed with her, arranged the consultation, picked up the medicine, and covered the cost until we settled it at checkout. Though they couldn’t speak the same language, the kindness they shared needed no translation. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained—modern, spotless rooms with strong showers, large safes, comfortable beds, and daily beach towel service. They’re even preparing to open a spa soon. Kudarikilu is tranquil and welcoming. Locals greet you with genuine smiles, and wildlife is everywhere—from hatchling sea turtles and reef sharks to fruit bats and colorful birds. The hotel’s parrots, Bii and Boo, and the receptionist’s adorable bird, Shyy, brought extra charm to our stay. The restaurant just across the road was another highlight. The manager was always warm, our table was set with care, and the local chili paste is a must-try for spice lovers. Prices were very reasonable, and the food quality exceeded that of neighboring islands. Plans to expand the menu with a new chef are in the works too. There are also several supermarkets nearby for essentials at local prices. In short, our stay at Baa Sand was extraordinary. The people made all the difference—Ali, Hasan, the receptionist, and the restaurant manager treated us like family. Even after a short stay, we left with full hearts and warm memories. We’re already planning to return—it truly felt like saying goodbye to old friends. Thank you, Baa Sand team. We’ll see you again soon.

Сегодня выехала из отеля и сразу пишу по свежей памяти. Сразу скажу главное- Расположение отеля очень удачное, свежий соленый воздух доносится  в открытое окно по утрам и вечерам. Отель стоит прям на пристани, где все лодки-это красиво. Вечером приплывают акулы. Их можно покормить рыбой.  Внутри: номера большие, новые и все есть. Убирают каждый день, вода в достатке питьевая. Полотенца для пляжа в изобилии. В полуденный зной можно остаться в тени деревьев на берегу возле номера. Лежаки, зонтики, столы - все есть. Снорклинг и сапы -  лучшее место для этого. Именно где находится этот отель.  Персонал: добрые, отзывчивые, эмпатичные ребята и девушки.  Домашний риф хороший: дельфины, черепахи, манты, стаи рыб. Я все это видела лично.  До бикини пляжа можно дойти по берегу 5 мин. Можно по улицам - 10 мин. Завтраки питательные.  Помогали организовать все морские экскурсии и рыбалку. Оказывали всяческую поддержку и внимание.  Адам - управляющий. Всегда готов поговорить и помочь.  Особый привет Юсуфу🤍Без него познание острова и жизни местных было бы скудным. Каждый день он делал все возможное, чтобы я наслаждалась. Невероятные ощущения.  Я вернусь, обязательно. И в этот отель.  Есть на острове и ближе к бикини пляжу отели, но в них вы не услышите прибой и не увидите восходы солнца из-за расположения. Да и находятся отели на улицах - это душно) Если вы выбираете где остановится-берите этот отель. Рекомендую!

두 번째로 디구파루 리조트 섬에 옵니다. 이곳에 오는 건 항상 즐거웠습니다. 집사인 아파는 항상 우리를 위해 최고의 것을 준비해 주었습니다. 처음 왔을 때는 제 파트너의 생일이었는데, 그들은 우리에게 무료 케이크를 준비해 주었고 심지어 환승 문제를 해결하는 데 도움을 주었습니다. 두 번째 왔을 때는 예약과 관련하여 약간의 오해가 있었고, 방 선택이 풀북이었지만, 그녀가 우리를 위해 관리해 주었기 때문에 우리는 여전히 예약에 따라 선호하는 방을 얻을 수 있었고, 더 좋았습니다. 만타 먹이 주기도 즐거웠고, 해변가에서 아주 가까운 곳에서 만타와 상어를 볼 수 있어서 정말 기뻤습니다. 아침, 점심, 저녁 식사도 다양한 옵션이 있어서 좋았습니다. 방은 깨끗했고 편의 시설도 완벽했습니다. 로션 향이 가장 좋았습니다. 추억을 만들기에 좋은 곳이었습니다. 꼭 다시 올 거예요 💛

🌴 Review: Dreamland Maldives (Stayed July 7–11, 2025) 🌴 Just returned from an amazing 4-night stay at Dreamland Maldives, and overall we were really impressed — especially if you love marine life and peaceful surroundings. 🐠 Snorkeling & Excursions – Absolutely worth it! The house reef around the island is full of life. We saw nurse sharks, sea cucumbers, and even sea turtles while snorkeling close to shore. Our favorite excursions were: • A trip to Hanifaru Bay to watch the majestic manta rays. • A nurse shark tour around the Dreamland reef — exciting and well organized. 🍴 Food – Delicious and better than expected We chose the Full Board package (3 meals per day), and the buffet meals were consistently good. Each day offered a variety of beef, pork, chicken, and fish dishes, along with rotating international options. We were pleasantly surprised to find Thai dishes occasionally included — such as Tom Yum Chicken Soup and Thai Fish Cakes (Tod Mun Pla) — both authentic and flavorful. 💧 Note – Full Board doesn’t include water Still water is not included in Full Board. • A 1.5L bottle costs around $3.50 USD, which adds up over several days. • If you prefer not to worry about extra drink charges, we recommend going for the All-Inclusive package instead. 🌧️ Weather Tip – Be cautious in July On our departure day, a storm delayed our seaplane, and we missed our international flight. If traveling in July (monsoon season), plan extra buffer time or stay a night near the airport before your outbound flight. Dreamland offers a relaxing and nature-filled getaway with great snorkeling and tasty food. We’ll gladly return — but next time, with All-Inclusive and flexible travel plans during the rainy season!

Отель новый, даже пахнет до сих пор свежей известью😀 Мебель, постельное белье, полотенца, сантехника всё новое. Номер оказался очень маленьким для двоих. На следующий день попросили переделать, если возможность в другой номер. Сотрудники пошли на встречу. Дали офигенный номер, без доплат, в другом здании сети HAWKS. Их там три: NEST, WINGS и WRANS. Спустя три ночи, предложили бесплатный апгрейд на улучшенный номер с балконом и с видом на океан. Во всех трех отелях предоставляются тапочки, халаты, множество средств для личной гигиены, вплоть до натуральной мочалка. Постельное белье, полотенца белоснежные. Пляжные полотенца, маски, трубки, ласты, все выдаётся при наличии бесплатно. Завтраки, обеды ужины по системе шведский стол, так себе. Для отеля такого уровня могло быть намного лучше. С голоду конечно никто не умер. Можно заказать по меню. Вкуснее, по цене иногда дешевле. Сам ужин стоит 15$. Персонал очень отзывчивый, всегда решает любые вопросы. Особенно спасибо Али и Хасану. Хасан это официант и фотограф в одном лице. Хотелось порекомендовать владельцу отеля сменить лежаки на пляже на более комфортнее, и конечно улучшить питание. Отель рекомендую, возможно и вернусь. Да, забыла написать, у отеля есть приветственные комплименты. Спрашивайте, они особо не афишируют.

아름다운 웨스틴에서 즐거운 휴가를 보냈습니다. 말레 공항에서 45 분 거리에있는 물 비행이 적절하며 호텔의 픽업 및 드롭 오프 서비스는 매우 세심합니다. 우리의 주문에는 아침과 저녁 식사가 포함되어 있으며 저녁 식사 중 하나는 일식 레스토랑을 예약 할 수 있습니다. 뷔페는 다양하며 다른 나라의 음식을 맛볼 수 있습니다. 이 기간 동안 바람과 파도가 커서 패들 보드와 같은 해양 활동에 참여할 수는 없지만 코치는 수영장에서 치열한 배구 경기를 개최했습니다. 스노클링은 산호 🪸 및 열대어 🐠를 볼 수 있습니다. 객실 시설은 완벽합니다. 가장 인상적인 것은 직원들의 열정입니다. 부두에서 환영과 인사를 나눌 때, 식당에서의 채팅, 길에서 만날 때의 인사로 친숙한 커뮤니티에 있는 것처럼 편안하고 편안합니다. 앞으로 기회가 된다면 또 올게요!

We’ve travelled to many places around the world and stayed in countless hotels and resorts — some even more expensive than this — but Vakkaru is truly the BEST experience we’ve ever had. Baa Atoll is already one of the world’s most pristine ecological reserves, and the resort’s blue holes and sandbanks are simply addictive. We could visit them several times a day and still never get enough. At any moment, you’ll find different kinds of fish swimming freely around you. Beyond the beauty and the facilities, what truly makes Vakkaru unforgettable is the people. Our butler Myat, the sommelier, and our roomboy Mohamond all went above and beyond, offering the warmest, most thoughtful care throughout our stay. Their kindness made all the difference. It’s really hard for us to leave. We will definitely be back — and without a doubt, we’ll choose Vakkaru again.

몰디브는 세 번째 방문인데, 로얄 아일랜드 리조트는 처음 방문했는데 정말 멋진 경험이었어요! 섬까지는 수상 비행기와 스피드보트를 이용했어요 (국내선 항공편 때문에 점심까지 기다리지 않아도 되어서 호텔에 정말 감사했어요). 돌아올 때는 스피드보트와 국내선을 이용했어요. 왕복 교통편은 무료였는데, 특히나 감사했어요. 호텔에 오전 8시에 도착해서 바로 체크인을 했어요. 선셋 빌라를 예약했는데, 위치가 정말 좋았어요. 부두에서 멀리 떨어져 있었고 (부두에 가까운 빌라는 수영하기에도 적합하지 않고 산호초도 없거든요), 아름다운 산호초와도 가까워서 좋았어요. 모든 게 다 마음에 들었어요. - 음식이 맛있고 다양했어요. 매일 점심과 저녁에 해산물, 과일, 정말 맛있는 디저트, 아이스크림 등 모든 게 풍성했어요. 직원들도 친절했고요. 식사를 마칠 때쯤 레스토랑 웨이터가 음료를 가져다주었는데, 테이블에 도착하니 이미 물이 잔에 따라져 있었고, 테이블에는 차가 담긴 찻주전자가 놓여 있었어요. 호스트 마크가 모든 것을 설명해 주고 안내해 주셔서 정말 좋았습니다. 레스토랑의 헤드 매니저인 알리는 저희가 음식을 어떻게 즐기고 있는지, 모든 것이 마음에 드는지 끊임없이 확인했습니다. - 매일 청소, 비치 타월을 포함한 수건 교체. 저희는 많은 곳을 가보고 많은 것을 보았지만, 저희 생각에 이곳은 가성비가 훌륭한 아주 괜찮은 리조트입니다. 강력 추천합니다!

I'm truly overjoyed! The service at this hotel is absolutely fantastic, and the accommodation is exceptionally comfortable! What's more, every single staff member is so warm and considerate, making me feel incredibly cared for. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for giving me such an unforgettable and wonderful stay experience! The food here is not only incredibly affordable but also features far superior ingredients compared to what I've had in the city. What's more, the shisha is a steal at just $5.08, allowing you to savor it by the poolside in utter relaxation.
