This Log Cabin has a open floor plan and large windows to view wildlife. There are two separate sleeping quarters, one in the loft, the other is on the main level. This cabin is most comfortable for a small family or two couples, but can sleep up to 6 people with need sharing including a queen air mattress upon request. There is both a cozy pellet stove and a wood fire place, and spacious outside deck. It is tucked in an aspen grove so plenty of wildlife can be viewed walking around the full acre property. The cabin is near recreation areas for fishing, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, off roading, geocaching, historical and scenic treasures. A perfect oasis to disconnect from busy city life and reconnect with the rustic quiet beauty of nature.Winter is approximately late November through early April, during this season Roads are closed to road vehicles. Only tracked vehicles (snowmobiles) or skies are allowed. Winter parking lot is about 5 miles from Cabin. There are 1800 plus square feet to call home for your escape. The large great room opens into the dining room and kitchen with many windows to allow for great views of the outdoors. The master bedroom is in the loft with a queen bed and full-size futon. There is a star gazing window over the queen bed in the loft which is very relaxing before you retire at night. The large main floor bedroom has a queen bed. There is a queen and full size sleeper couch in great room. There is a full bath on each floor. The laundry room with washer and dryer is on main floor for your use. A TV with a DVD player in the great room allows you to enjoy your favorite shows during your down time. Arrowhead Ranch is a wonderful area and part of the San Juan Mountains. The turn off to Arrowhead is half way between Gunnison and Montrose on Highway 50. You will have access to multiple day trips including: Ouray, Telluride, Lake City, Ridgeway, Silverton, Wine country and orchards toward Palisade, Black Canyon, Marrow Boat Tours in the canyon and Blue Mesa Lake. One of our favorite spots is Big Blue Campground south of Arrowhead, this location has a great campground with beaver ponds and the Big Blue River for fishing. Arrowhead is a great location for those interested in hiking, biking, four-wheeling, fishing, watching wildlife and relaxing!The A-frame will give you all you need to unwind and recharge. The large deck allows you to enjoy the beautiful relaxing outdoors. Many sightings of wildlife are possible if you are quiet! We enjoy the deer most every morning and evening as we watch out the dining room windows. Early in the summer we often watch the baby fawns follow their mothers as they walk by the cabin. They are often playful and fun to watch. At certain times of the year you can see elk but you can always hear them in the fall. Many birds from turkeys to grouse visit along with the humming birds. Occasionally a snow shoe rabbit or red fox with slip by. Rarely we see a bear.Views on the deck are great down the valley. You can also relax and enjoy a good book on the quiet deck. Grill that perfect steak with your favorite wine on the deck for a perfect evening after a fun filled day! Sunsets on the deck following dinner are the best. Smores over the fire pit are also a good way to spend your evening relaxing after a full day of the outdoors.We enjoy the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge for the outdoor entertainment they have most weekends and the restaurant which is very good. If you are a fisherman there are lakes available to Arrowhead residents to fish without a license. Hazel Lake is just across the road from the cabin and a great hike. This is another great spot to enjoy the wildlife. You can safely hike or bike the many miles of roads around Arrowhead and there are several trails available.This get-away from "life" is the best way to recharge with the fresh mountain air. We enjoy the spring each year but fall is special with all the wonderful colors! The summer brings a progressive kaleidoscope of wildflowers to the slope surrounding the house. In the fall, the aspens lining the walls of the valley glow a brilliant gold. Sunsets are especially amazing, as the light slowdances over the Butte and sky. While you’re loving the view, you’ll take a moment to appreciate how quiet is is up here, and what a special retreat from your busy life this really is. Spend as much time out there as you like but eventually come back inside to see how awesome the rest of the house is.The living space is a wide-open floor plan with vaulted cedar ceilings for big gatherings of family and friends. The very well-equipped kitchen with subzero fridge and high-end appliances will help you create delicious meals with your crew. Gather around the rustic dining table or take your food and a glass of wine back outside to the iron outdoor dining set. Comfortable leather seating around a large, beautiful stone hearth and wood-burning fireplace will keep you toasty on cold nights. Touches of luxury mountain decor make the space magical, and all of it is graced with floor to ceiling windows to bring the same breathtaking view inside.The large master Wildflower Suite is on the same floor and has its own access to the deck. The River Room has a large rustic king size bed and corner seating area with views to the surrounding slopes of flowers and blue spruce trees.The large Moose Room is designed for families or kids, with one log queen and two twin log beds, and a peaceful and secluded view to the back porch and aspen trees.Finally, the Bear Room is decorated with kids in mind, and has two low twin beds.These rooms share a large downstairs bathroom. There is also a full laundry room and another living space/media room, with access to another secluded lower back deck hidden by whispering aspens.Meridian Lake Park is, in our opinion, the prime location in Crested Butte, being the perfect balance of a quiet retreat and unparalleled view of mountain living, all with the ski resort and downtown less than 8 minutes away along a gorgeous curvy drive through the foothills.As amazing as the house and view is, you come to CB to get outside for peace and adventure. The Meridian reservoir can be seen from the house and it stocked with fish, if you’re into that. Or take a short hike up the hill past the reservoir to the natural alpine Long Lake for swimming in the summer.Please note only 4 vehicles are allowed on driveway per HOA regulations. No trailers, campers, or ATVs/UTVs allowed on driveway. We do recommend a 4-wheel drive in winter months. Climb the stairs to the wrap-around porch which makes this a tree house experience. (The porch has rails, but no guards protecting little ones, please be mindful of this.) Walk into this cabin settled snuggly into the Aspen grove all around. You can sit around the fireplace enjoying the warmth while soaking in the calm of the mountains. The main floor is where you will spend your time with family and friends, or sneak away into the garage for some loud playing around the foosball and ping pong tables. All four bedrooms are upstairs with two of the three bathrooms. This is the perfect escape into the mountains for hunting, ATV, and all mountain adventures you desire! The firepit and picnic table are perfect for relaxing and listening to the quaking Aspens outside. No Cell Service/Wi-Fi only, truly escaping into the mountains!This cabin is surrounded on all sides by Gunnison National Forest, there's a forest service road next to the property that gives you a 2+ mile hike right outside the doorstep through aspen and pine forests, through an abandoned mining town, and over the ridge to overlook Pitkin. Please do not use ATVs up this road or block it as it does lead to private residences. There's a beaver pond on the other side of the forest service road to the left of the property that has trout fishing and it is what feeds the creek that runs through the property. There is also an extensive trail system throughout the valley with Cambell town which is a larger abandoned mining town, as well as the Gold creek campground 5 miles farther along CR771 that has trails that go all along the ridgeline, 3 different natural alpine lakes for fishing, and ATV trails that go all the way to Crested Butte. It's a 30 min drive to Gunnison, 45 min (ish) drive to Crested Butte and 1 hour drive to Monarch Pass.
