In general I would say this is a very nice hotel of the mid-size, boutique variety. The property appears to be split into two parts, connected via the reception corridor. We had a top floor room in the part away from the main section with the bar. The room was well-furnished, and the bathroom very pleasant with decent equipment and a bath and shower. It could have been bigger but had plenty of cupboard space. The breakfast was good; nice, tasty coffee, plenty of cold choices and bacon and eggs as well. The bar is really attractive and great to sit out on a hot day and in the evening on our visit. The hotel is a block from the beach which is stunning. Miles of sand and views of St Malo down a long wide promenade. Do beware that the tide comes in at an unusual pace. In an hour or so the great wide beach was totally submerged up to the promenade. No coincidence Mont St Michel is just nearby. It is quite a long walk into the walled city from here, but it is totally worth it and the old town has everything from smart shops and deluxe restaurants, to Pizza kitchens, seafood specialists and some nice pubs. Buses run all the time to the walls up the main road past the hotel and we bought cheap tickets from a machine, so easy if you don't want to drive or walk back. But there is a vast car park at the old town if you do. One issue. We went in September and it was unusually hot (35C). Our room got quite hot as there is no air conditioning and the sun shone in during the day. However, it is such a quiet location we had our window open all night and slept fine. The other consideration is parking. You need to call them and book in advance to park on the premises. On the other hand, we were there 3 days and got parked outside every time without fail for free. It was a really lovely stay and the reception and staff were welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable and spoke very good English.
