A beautiful hidden gem. Very comfortable stay in a museum-like amazing structure. Cool decor all around. The family who runs it is just super. Welcoming and warmth. Great breakfast a bonus. Don't pass it by. It feels like staying with family.

Possibly one of the most pleasant places we have stayed in ever. Both Blanca and Mario make you feel like a family member. With regards to the house and rooms, they are amazing. Obviously you need to take into account this is not a new-build hotel. It is a colonial house converted into a boutique hotel. Everything works as it should and the beds are just amazing. Breakfast is a feast of its own. The fruit selection was incredible and Mario cooks amazing eggs. If you want restaurant recommendations in the city center, they have great connections. The location is perfect for walking around the old center and it is very safe. We walked home after dinner every night and we never felt uncomfortable. It was a true delight to stay in this magical home away from home.

At Casa el Eden, old and new come together in charming and stylish harmony. Each room is unique, spacious, comfortable and filled with natural light, which comes either from large windows overlooking the street or the central courtyard skylight. A delicious breakfast including breads, jams, fresh fruit, cereal, and eggs, is served at a common table each morning. Wine is available on the honor system in a comfortable common room on the main floor. Mario and Blanca, the delightful and helpful proprietors (also, the parents of the owner) ordered taxis, made dinner reservations and suggested all the best places…the Plazas San Francisco and De la Independencia, gorgeous churches, Zazu (exquisite fine dining) and LaVid Restaurants, and the gorgeous Casa Museo Guayasamin, once the home and studio of the spectacular and historically significant artist, Oswaldo Guayasamin who created the museum and filled it with some of his most important and largest works. If you love art or distinctive locally designed clothing and jewelry, go there!

Wonderfully friendly and welcoming hosts who shared their knowledge of the area and cared that we enjoyed ourselves. The public and private areas were well cared for and super comfortable. Location was close enough to the old town center with some remove from this area

Mario and his wife were wonderful hosts, accommodating our early checkin and outs with a smile. The hotel is a very old colonial building with very modern and well decorated rooms. Right in the centre of the old town with easy access to the Plaza Grande.

This lovely boutique hotel is conveniently located in Centro Histórico, close to Plaza de Independencia, museums, bars and restaurants. It is a beautifully renovated building, with cozy, artfully decorated rooms, with personal touches added in. The owners of Casa El Edén are fabulous! Throughout our stay Mario and Blanca were friendly, attentive, and receptive. From our first visit, to our second, they remembered specific requests we had made, and implemented them before our arrival, which added to our comfort. Their daily complimentary breakfast was delicious, which included fresh juice and fruit, yogurt and granola, eggs and rolls. However, it was the friendly service that made each morning special.

Omigosh, this is the best hotel ever! I've traveled all over Europe, plus Japan, Australia, NZ, and the US, and have stayed at some wonderful places, but nothing tops Casa El Eden for outstanding service and all-around comfort and hospitality. Mario and his wife Blanca did absolutely everything for us, from picking us up at the airport (in the wee hours of the morning!), to arranging top-notch guides for two outings, to serving excellent breakfasts, and even to printing out boarding passes for our outgoing flight, as well as booking us a dinner reservation in another city. They are friendly, kind, caring, and knowledgeable about everything a tourist wants to know. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Our entire stay can be summarized in one word: wow! We stayed for two nights at Casa El Edén and we did not want to leave. We arrived very late on our first night (after midnight) and were greeted by Mario who carried our bags up to our room. The room was absolutely stunning. The room was very large with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was open to the bedroom/sitting area and had full sized toiletries, and the shower had perfect water temperature and pressure. Homemade breakfast was served each morning and was the highlight of our meals for the day. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the fruit was extremely fresh. Mario and Blanca were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make us feel like this was our home for our stay in Quito. My wife and I both enjoy running and Mario is an experienced runner. The first morning of our stay, Mario took us on an approximately 6 km running and walking tour of the Old City. It was incredible. We saw so many sites that we made a point to return to later that day, and Mario taught us so much about the City. It was a truly unforgettable experience. We will be staying at Casa El Edén whenever we return to Quito and will recommend Casa El Edén to all of our friends and family when they come to visit. If you are considering reserving a room here, do it. You will not be disappointed!

As other have said, Blanca and Mario made us feel like we were part of their family. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The patio on the rooftop was nice to relax in the evening. The location is perfect and walking distance to the main square and historic center attractions. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. One thing to note is that there is no elevator, but this is typical for many hotels in the city center.

Our Casa El Eden was absolutely perfect! Mario and Blanca are the kindest and most wonderful hosts and the staff are lovely - it really felt like home! The hotel is beautiful and unique, the room was really comfortable and clean, breakfast was delicious and we were so well looked after! Definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. We couldn't recommend staying here more highly :) Thank you so much to Mario and Blanca - we will be back!!

Rooms are spacious and have everything you need. The hotel itself is very picturesque too. The service is excellent. Mario and his wife are the owners and they live on site. They cater to every need we had and really went above and beyond. The location is very good on the edge of the old town in close to the Basilica too. I would highly recommend.

Casa El Eden was the perfect place for our 2-night stay in Quito. Mario and Blanca were so welcoming and helpful during our entire stay and went above and beyond. The location is great for central Quito, you're in walking distance to everything you'll want to explore. Do note that this is a building in the middle of the city; the building is very well-insulated from noise when the windows are shut but if you open them you'll hear the people and cars. We loved our stay here and would certainly recommend it!

A hidden gem in the center of Quito. Fully renovated colonial building (small palace), keeping all the elements of the past. It gives you the feeling that you are returning to that time! Rooms are super cosy and comfortable, clean and with all the amenities!9 The soul of the property is the owners, you think your parents are hosting you! Thank you very much Mario and Blanca!

When you enter Casa el Eden, you truly feel like you’re coming home. The welcome from Mario was wonderful and we received the same care and attention to detail throughout our stay from every colleague we met. Mario and Blanca especially were always eager to ensure that we had everything we needed for a great stay. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was big and comfortable, the towels fluffy, the shower pressure perfect. Breakfast was eggs cooked to order with cereal and various local fruits - exactly what you need. We would absolutely return to this boutique the next time we’re in Quito!
