We stayed at Ardtorna for 4 nights in Ardmaddy, overlooking the loch and with a private balcony. From setting foot in the door and meeting Karen to every aspect of our stay, we were extremely impressed by the high level of attention to detail. This is more in keeping with a boutique small hotel than a B&B. Karen and her team clearly work extremely hard and diligently to maintain such high standards and level of customer service and absolutely nothing was a problem. Food is clearly important to Karen and this is Bourne out by the quality of breakfast and platters on offer. We had the cheese platter which was excellent (we have high expectation from a cheese board!). Breakfast choices are numerous and each one we had was delicious. Unlimited coffee and tea of many choices are available. The honesty bar is stocked with a vast range of different soft drinks, spirits, mixers and wines and there was always fresh ice and lemon on hand. Many thanks to Karen and her team for a fab stay and we are already looking forward to a return visit.

This property leaves you breathless. Karen and her staff’s attention to detail means you could not ask for better. The accommodation is beautiful, spotlessly clean and simply a pleasure to enjoy. It was the tiny details that made the difference to me. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who is looking for luxury in the Scottish highlands. Thank you so much.

This B&B is wonderful! Eclectic design, both inside and out, large comfortable rooms and bathrooms that were a joy to be in. Our room looked out onto greenery and the loch. All rooms have a private balcony/patio with comfy seating where you can sit and admire the view with a drink, or a pre-planned dinner (strongly recommend this option!) Karen has put such attention into the details, from the furniture to tableware & to the lighting and all the fixtures. The breakfast is sumptuous with many options to choose from. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. They happily did our laundry and had it back in 2 hours! Situated a 10-minute drive from Oban this is the place to be to explore the area. Thank you, Karen & staff, for making our stay so enjoyable.

Fantastic place and most amazing view . Very welcoming and friendly hosts . Not the first time we have stayed and certainly won’t be the last . Top quality rooms and love the little touches like snack and coffee stations . Fabulous choices of breakfast served with one of the best views ever . Couldn’t find fault with anything exceptional place to stay .

Beautiful place, lovely host and staff, attention to detail was off the scale good. This is an out of the ordinary B&B, far superior to the usual offerings but not stupidly priced. If you're looking for a bit of luxury and tranquility this is the place!

Beautiful place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had trouble getting onto the internet and they helped us right away. The room was gorgeous. We stayed in “The Snug”. There was a lovely fireplace heater. Very cozy! Loved our visit. Thank you so much!

A lovely place to stay , beautiful room with fabulous views . Karen and her team are very warm and friendly and do everything to ensure you have a perfect stay . Great breakfast x we were also lucky to have some beautiful sunsets from our room . Would definitely return x

Great welcome and all round customer service from Karen and her sister. Fabulous setting and really high end quality throughout the rooms and the venue. Breakfast was hand cooked and superb. Parking is on site and easy access Can’t recommend highly enough.

Based on the extensive 5* reviews, we had high expectations, but left a little disappointed. There were a number of small things that would have made a big difference to our stay. Our room was really hot, and would have benefited from reflective solar film on the windows (also would increase privacy) and/or air conditioning. Our cheese board, which at £70 was marketed on their website as an opportunity to try local food, was a selection from Tesco, including Tesco branded wine we'd seen on offer. The soap and shower products also weren't Scottish, which felt a shame given their emphasis on sourcing local. It felt like fancy things like a fizzy water station had been prioritised over things like having access to cold water. We appreciated the welcoming staff and pleasant view, and the offer of a discounted breakfast for one of us who can't eat properly, but we are a little confused at the almost unanimous 5*s.
