Fantastic find Lovely food and everyone extremely friendly Will definitely stay again

Took the family for dinner. Unfortunately they seemed to of had kitchen issues, calling in another chef after we had ordered. As much as the meal was reasonable at best. The excruciating long delay spoilt the evening. Whilst a round of drinks was welcome on the house, did not cut the mustard. The establishment had recently changed hands we believe. Will return at a much later date, when hopefully things will be a better experience. Here’s hoping ….

Brilliant time, lovely food, landlady fantastic. Warm, welcoming , we will back. Sarah is the new publican and she deserves a pat on the back, dealing with the flood in the cellar. Thankyou Sarah for making our stay enjoyable. We will make sure we will tell our friends

Food and service very good but rooms 4 and 5 shocking no heating bathroom need of tic cracked tiles sink needs replacing shower basket hanging on by one screw. To top it all no hot water at all rooms are very small was spost too stay two but only stayed one no at reception at 90clock to check out just a cleaner who didn't speak English

Was traveling down from Scotland to Southampton, and needed somewhere to spend the night. In the past I have usually spent the night in the Warwick/Oxford area, but on this occasion I wanted to be a bit further south. Most places were coming back at £100 a night for a single hotel room, but was able to find the Crown & Horns at a not to bad rate. Conveniently located off the road to Southampton, I had no problem finding it. Lovely rustic country pub, staff were really friendly. Staff are really friendly, and was able to get a pint in the bar before retiring to bed. Room was nice and basic, but met all my needs. All in all met my needs for my trip.

Booked a "double room superior ensuite" got a small room with ensuite shower. No chair, no table just a tatty unsecured wardrobe, dresser and a tiny 15inch TV. The accommodation is run down, tatty and lacking cleanliness. Extractor fan and bedside lamp did not work. Bed soft and lumpy. Very stuffy and hot, even with windows open. Noise from beer garden and other residents. Food was OK standard deep fried pub grub.

Great location, perfect for what we wanted, comfortable. and the chef went out of his way to cook a full breakfast, (boy was it full) on the first day, although they do not apparently offer this normally, on the second day we had to just have cereals and no service was offered, no coffee or toast, which was a shame as it took the edge off. But overall, good

A quiet pub, one of two in the village ( no other shops) . If coming down from the north or west UK it would be a perfect final stop before dropping the car off at Heathrow Airport . Comfortable and clean rooms upstairs. The shower recess was a little tight for room. Very good food but eat early

beautiful place lovely rooms and extremely comfortable. had the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. surrounding area was nice to walk around and really close to the downs. the building is stunning and the food served was excellent
