i recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort, and it was an incredibly relaxing experience. the ambience inside the property is truly pleasing and serene, with a nature-friendly vibe that immediately puts you at ease. the rooms were well-maintained, spacious, and provided a perfect balance of comfort and style. one of the highlights of the resort is definitely the pool—it’s stunning and adds so much to the overall experience. if you’re visiting, i highly recommend opting for the pool-view villas; they offer an unbeatable view and atmosphere. the food was delicious, with a wide variety of options, although slightly on the pricey side. that said, the quality more than made up for it. lastly, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. overall, a wonderful place for a peaceful getaway!

This resort has some very nice people working around the property, but unfortunately the head, the General Manager Mr. Sajish of this resort made our experience here the absolute worst experience we have ever had in our lives. When we checked in we were given probably the worst room in the resort, much worse than rooms that were less expensive than the one we had reserved. We had HUGE rats running around outside our room, the bathroom was an outdoor bathroom with NO DOORS, connected to the small outdoor pool that we had. We asked for blackout curtains, and they taped some pieces of black paper to some windows. All in all...absolutely terrible. When we asked to switch rooms, they refused, saying the resort was full. We changed our airline booking to leave a day early, and told the staff that we would only stay 2 nights instead of the 3 nights we had booked. But they refused to accept their faults. The hotel, and the GM Mr. Sajish refused to refund us the 3rd night and locked the main gate to the hotel, not allowing us to leave until we signed the credit card receipt forcing us to pay for all 3 nights. This was the most insulting disgusting experience we have ever been thru and I am surprised that the owners allow this kind of treatment to guests at a supposed 5 star resort. We remain very disappointed in the way we were treated and will never go back to any of their properties again.

I would like to show my appreciation by taking this opportunity to thank everyone at the Taj for their hard work even down to the gardeners ensuring all guests needs are catered for. I would specially like to thank Subin for looking after our dietary needs, after the first night he cooked a meal for my husband and i after that we had full confidence to let him just get on with it, the meals he prepared for us were delicious. The hotel setting is just beautiful so much so we didn’t leave the hotel, apart from a lovely bike ride with a member of staff. Thank you all for a memorable stay.

Having travelled through south India on many occasions we chose this time to remain at our favorite destination for the full duration of our recent trip to Kerala. I would like to thank all of the staff for making our recent stay at Coconut Lagoon such a pleasure and memorable experience. Having spent nearly 3 weeks at the resort we got to know many of the staff on a personal level. We would like to give special thanks to Shynima and the entire housekeeping staff whose hard work and attention to the smallest details made returning to our room at the end of the day a real pleasure. The artistic talent of the housekeeping staff with floral arrangements was always a wonderful surprise. Special thanks to Chef Gerry for the wonderful, tasty food enjoyed every day and to Dinesh, Lijo and Thomas who supported the kitchen efforts. Thomas Jacob and Tijo at the front office kept everything running smoothly and we will forever be impressed with the card tricks that Tijo had up his sleeve – a really commanding performance and a well-kept secret! Days spent at the pool were made pleasant by the presence and good humor of Prasanth whose tidy work kept the pool in pristine condition. The naturalist staff were super at explaining the flora and fauna of the resort. A big surprise came at the end of our stay when we were treated to a special guided tour of the backwaters where I changed my previously bad opinion of toady – the local fermented coconut drink! I am sure that the future plans to expand backwater program will be a big success. Once again, we would like to give big thank you to everyone who truly showed the meaning of Indian hospitality and look forward to our next visit.

nice place for a quiet stay by the banks of kumarakom backwaters.it would be nice if you could go with family as there are only four rooms and it could be occupied by the same group of people. rooms are spacious with a good clean toilet. food is also good with inhouse kitchen and a nice cook. as its literally on the banks you could enjoy the backwaters. no pool, but if you know swimming can explore the backwaters itself as the water height is about 5 ft for about 5mtrs near the banks. in house activities could have been better as its a small property with limited space for any exploration. its also very near to house boat jetty, bird sanctuary and main roads.

It was a lovely trip. For us all the restaurant staff (especially Prisuna and Chef Arun) made the stay as memorable as possible. In a previous review, someone said the staff make up for the shortcomings of management and I can attest to that. We were there to celebrate my birthday and the F&B manager, Prisuna, and Chef Arun went out of their way to help my fiancé organise the most memorable and beautiful birthday celebration yet. I have many dietary requirements and they've always gone beyond and above to adjust the menu to my needs. I'm so grateful to all of them. The location is absolutely beautiful and serene. It's a real gem. You can also book a houseboat experience through reception. It was a nice touch and pleasant surprise to plant our very own sapling before leaving the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable. There are a few things that you'd expect of a five star that you won't find - i E: no minibar or slippers in the room, but it's not serious enough to knock off a star. The staff's kindness, attentiveness and willingness to make this the best stay possible is what stands out.
