블루 호라이즌 호텔(Blue Horizon Hotel)

This is our second time at the Blue Horizon and yet again the service was absolutely excellent. From the moment we stepped foot into the hotel we were greeted with nothing but respect and kindness. Even the staff that see hundreds of people each day remembered my gran and me from last year, only improving our excellent opinion of the place. The entertainment team, Ben and Willy, made our holiday! They always kept spirits high and gave their all into every activity. The evening entertainment is fabulous, our favourites were the music quiz and fire show, would definitely recommend trying each night out. The pool is also very good, they have aqua aerobics daily (except Sunday) which is very fun and entertaining. The lifeguard (Kimi I think his name was) is lovely and welcoming. He made sure the kids were playing safe and even let them help open the pool up in the morning. He was always on hand is something happened, or if someone needed help in general. Overall, this hotel is great and we would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to travel to Greece. We are booked for coming back next year, and cannot wait already!!!

Could not fault this hotel, clean, happy friendly staff. Entertainment was fantastic! Benny and Willy provide most if not all of the entertainment from aqua gym which was my fave, fire breathing, glass walking and bingo they absolutely made our holiday! My partner won a scooter for the day on bingo which we were allowed to upgrade to a car due to having our 7 year old son with us he also won several other prizes on 2 lines from it. The food was fabulous with so many options each night there was always something for everyone! All the staff were very helpful and happy during our 10 day stay. They all allowed our son to help with little things such as opening the pool, helping deliver the Aqua Gym classes. I would absolutely visit again. The local taxi men were great and even provided there numbers so we could wats app them and picked us up fast and collected us as soon as we were ready! We went half board and it did not cost much for lunch spending about €12 a day for 3 of us to have lunch. We are not big drinkers so the cost of all inclusive didn't Warrent the amount they wanted to increase our board basis. Again Benny and Willy were the highlight of the hotel and we can not thank them enough!!

Me and my wife stayed here 30th May for 10 nights for our honeymoon and could only fault one or two minor things. Everything else was very satisfactory for us. We went half board and got breakfast and tea included. The food was absolutely wonderful each day and they have a themed night each night so it’s not always the same food which is a nice added touch. The waiters were excellent too! Despite hundreds of people each day they always somehow recognised us and were very warm and welcoming and made conversation despite being very busy. The bar staff were excellent and hilarious also. The pool area was clean every day. The hotel staff overall were very friendly. The entertainment duo of Willy and Benny however made the week. They were absolutely hilarious and always found a way to have you laughing and also very good at engaging the staff. The nightly experiences at the hotel were great too. The fire show and fantasia show were a highlight. The room was always cleaned every day nicely and amenities replaced when ran out. I would honestly recommend this place to my friends and family and would 100% stay here again. Two very minor issues, our rooms aircon was not the best. On its highest setting it wasn’t really blowing much so was very warm. May have just been our room however. (217). And, the pool was shut a little sooner than we’d like. But I get it wouldn’t be fair to have a lifeguard all night. Maybe 18:00-20:00 could be adults only or something? But other than those two very minor issues, we honestly loved it and were very glad to celebrate our honeymoon here!

On arrival around midnight we went to the front desk to check in and the man straight away started trying to make us upgrade to a smaller room without a balcony ( we had booked a double room with sea view , which we are still looking for ) and wanted an extra 600 euros for the pleasure , then the air con charge which we understand you have to pay for but when it changes price in seconds whether your paying cash or card I do not expect haggling in a 4 * hotel . We had a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee as we were not “all inclusive” but guess what for an extra €600 we could have been and ,had it . The staff are miserable and unwelcoming apart from a couple which were ok . The beds were uncomfortable and although cleaners were in everyday let’s just say it was’nt to the highest of standards expect more for a 4 * ,you are also on a flight path which is very busy.We were bed and breakfast and the breakfast was disgusting the same stuff everyday which wouldn’t be that bad if it was edible . Raw eggs, stale bread, cooked meat that was going brown was served the next day but disguised by cutting into strips and mixed up .Would definitely not recommend anyone to book this hotel IMO all they are interested in is more money and should be rated a2 * .The area however is beautiful and the local people are welcoming and friendly the food outside the hotel is gorgeous we didn’t have a bad meal, so yes book up for the area just not with this hotel .

Upon arrival the reception team were really helpful, and throughout the trip as well. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable. The food on offer for breakfast and dinner was top notch and the menu was changing every day so you are never bored of the food. We arrived late and missed the first dinner, but we got a voucher to have one free meal upon check out and this was a first for us, and was absolutely fantasic to be offered this. We also got offered free towels and a shower after our checkout due to our late departing flight. The entertainment throughout the day/night was also really good and there was a different theme every day (except sunday, which was a "quiet" day). The hotel entertainers (Willy and Ben) were really nice and also put on a great show and they made a big difference to the overall feeling of relaxation. It would have been a different expierence for the worst of they were not employed there. The hotel has a great location to a bus stop and the airport can be reached quite quickly. It takes only a few moments to walk to the beach as well. This was one of our favorite holidays and would recommend this hotel to everyone and we would not hesitate to come back to this hotel.

What can I say fantastic week spent here with my teenage granddaughters. The hotel is lovely only minutes away from the airport & yes planes do fly over but certainly not an issue. The beach is just a very short walk away & has a lovely little cafe (for the want of a better word) which does a great & reasonably priced Gyros amongst other things. The food in hotel is excellent so varied, with every night a different theme (Greek, Asian, BBQ etc) so thank you to those behind the scenes your efforts were very much appreciated especially by my granddaughters who were living their best life! The staff in the restaurant were friendly, efficient & helpful! The bar staff were also a delight always smiling & again very efficient! The reception staff again so helpful! Our room was cleaned daily by two ladies who were always smiling & did a great job & last but by no means least the entertainment team of Ben & Willy these guys were fantastic the effort they put into everything they did was amazing especially the Fire Show which was just so impressive! Their friendliness & enthusiasm was just great they really were the icing on the cake! I have always loved Greece for me it is a special place especially Rhodes & now my granddaughters feel exactly the same so thank you everyone at the Blue Horizon for giving us the best time!

I stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel for a week with my daughter and 4 year old granddaughter in mid-May. The landscaping is lush and beautiful, so many palm trees and flowering bushes; pink, red and purple flowers adorning side and overhead trellises. It was sunbathing weather for six days out of the seven. Ample sunbeds on the paving and on the grassy landscaped areas around the pool. My granddaughter enjoyed the small plain kids' pool, adding her own play toys. The beach is pebbly/stony but we wore diving shoes which made things easy and it became sandy underfoot shortly after you enter the sea. Our third floor room was nice with a good bathroom - the only improvement would have been more plug points for charging phones and tablets. We eat a vegan and vegetarian diet and rate the food in the restaurant and beachside cafe as good. Funny enough, the restaurant staff started off as cheery but seemed almost sad from halfway through the week. I hope that wasn't anything to do with any planned cat controls - quite a number of young cats waited silently outside a dining room window in a particular garden during the evening meal, hoping for titbits. It would be nice if a cat charity or similar could do a trap, neuter and return for these poor moggies and others in Rhodes: they have a hard life I'm sure and probably do a good job in keeping unwelcome rodents from their areas. We booked seats on a coach at Reception for a good price and walked around the medieval town on our only cloudy day, well worth a visit for the beautiful stone walls and buildings, the feel of the past and its central line of shops. The public toilets I used put ours in the UK to shame, even if I had to pay 50 cents for the privilege. The hotel entertainment staff were amazing: everywhere else I've been the staff have done singing/dancing/panto routines - Willy and the other talented guy (whose name I didn't get, sorry) did an evening routine that included fire-breathing and walking/lying on glass fragments. Another evening entertainment event was a Greek singer with musicians and Greek dancers - we were all invited to participate in a couple of dances, which I and my granddaughter enjoyed. The lower level of seating in the bar is not enclosed half way through, which resulted in cigarette smoke sometimes wafting back to us so we usually chose to sit in the higher level on a comfortable sofa. The evening bar staff were lovely, a fond thank you to the man who made my drinks, you are a star. On the morning of our last day around the pool I won a cocktail doing killer darts (lol I was just aiming to hit the board), a cherry on the top of a most enjoyable holiday.

We have just got back from our week staying here. I can't fault the hotel or its staff in any way. We arrived late due to a certain airline being crap. From the moment we arrived, we were treated kindly and in a helpful way. I had emailed ahead and asked for a bottle of wine to be put in the room to help celebrate our 10th anniversary. I had also booked us into a sea view bungalow. I can honestly say the photos match the real version. I was not disappointed and it was great to see my wife's face as she thought we were staying in a normal hotel room. Breakfast is buffet style and included in our stay. There is so much variety, so there is something for everyone. The pool area has plenty of beds for everyone. We spent 2 days there but then spent the rest of the time on the beach as it was a little quieter. You pay €4 per bed but to be honest, we didn't mind that. Previous reviews mentioned the planes flying over frequently. This is true but I quite enjoyed it and they don't really disturb you. In general, we truly had a great time. Many thanks to all the staff!

Very clean. Friendly staff, Willy and Benny (poolside) very helpful and enthusiastic- great pool and beach area. Room was clean, comfortable and homely. Food was nice, something for everyone. Aqua aerobics, volleyball and darts were fun.
