The whole facility is secured by keypad locks and 24 hour video surveillance, for extra peace of mind. There are a handful of other outbuildings/rentals on the property, and these guests are allowed access to the lower level bathroom through a secure exterior keypad entry. The interior access is controlled by a pad-lock, and guests of the main facility are welcome to use the lower bathroom at their own discretion. The Top floor features a large master suite with open floor plan, walk-in closet, Queen-size bed, state of the art kitchenette, living room, private bathroom/shower. A door opens to the "Sun Room", which features a fully enclosed wrap-around deck: including an Aspen-wood sauna; amazing views of the Mountains and Valley; and a dining-cove/bunk-room, which can be used to keep your younger kids closer to you, or to simply provide more sleeping space for your group.The middle floor, “The Shrine Room”, features a larger, warm and open room with a convertible Full-size sofa-bed, Extendable Dining Table, 65” TV, and Bathroom/Shower. It doubles as a practice space for moving/healing arts, guided meditations, or conferences/meetings. There is a large Stone Labyrinth on the grounds for Walking Meditation and profound relaxation. Our property also has a rustic log cabin without plumbing and only some electricity but a cozy wood stove for the rustic experience. The DEEP QUIET and DARK SKIES of Crestone and the Great Sand Dunes are well known!Guest accessYou'll enjoy the entire second floor for yourselves, particularly when the sunrise or sunset light shines all the way through the penthouse feeling space. It consists of two bedrooms, each about 12' x 12' that can have a king bed in each, or one or two singles in the South Bedroom. The great room has an amazing Sange de Cristo view with a padded Persian rug for doing yoga or exercising while enjoying the mountain view. A full kitchen with dining space, is part of the great room that measures 27' by 26'. The entrance/hallway library measures 16' x 10' with sliding door western sunset views. The full tiled bath has a deep bathtub for soaking and a warming towel rack. Part of the great room is lofted for a spacious feel but guest access is restricted to the short lofted area due to narrow short stair access. The apartment is attached to a 1.5 story green house on the south that is quite interesting to experience how it supports the heating and cooling of the apartment. Home orientation and window placement is so important for sustainable living. Homes of this nature are always under maintenance, so you may find construction materials, stacks of wood, etc. on the property, as well as unique finish work. Because of our rural setting, the home is prone to contact with wildlife and rural conditions such as deer, bears, insects, pests, dust and debris.
