'A nice hotel but quite old. There are not many nice hotels in Meizhou though. There are various floors of amenities with good views. My room had a nice view and was clean apart from the furniture, which had a few stains and definitely needed to be replaced. Nothing special for breakfast except from the views from the 28th floor. In a decent location.'

'Many amenities are not necessary and redundant e.g. mahjong table, living room, extra TV set. The welcoming music when I entered the room was annoying and I had turned it off all the time. Instead of giving free breakfast, they gave me free supper, which comprised only cheap dimsum and porridge. Very disappointing. Won't come back to stay at this hotel again.'

'One of our favourite stays was at White Swan Guest House. We had the most amazing experience from the staff. September 2024 We traveled to Meizhou from Shezhen. Being from Australia with limited communication we struggled to get a DiDi not realising we were in the wrong town wanting a long trip. We contacted White Swan hoping they could help us get transport. The lovely ladies Alice and Anna made every attempt to get us a DiDi so late at night and they had a friend who was able to get us from the train station. Once he was at Meizhou train station and couldn’t locate us. Alice suggested we share location on WeChat. it was then that we all realised we were in the wrong town. We had accidentally got off the train at the station before Meizhou, Xingningcun Alice & Anna were so kind and offered to help find us accommodation for the night as it was already midnight. We didn’t really want to because it will interfere with our schedule but there were no more trains.  The ladies understood and  said they could ask her DiDi driver friend but no guarantee as he had finished work for the night. She asked if he would be willing to travel the 1.5 hours to Xingning South Railway station at 1am to come get us. Which would actually have him driving for 3 hours for us. It was a late night but we are so grateful that they tried so hard to communicate with us and make us feel safe and cared for. He was wonderful and because of his kindness we reached out to him many times during our stay. The staff especially Anna and Alice were amazing. Thank you for making our first visit to China a memorable experience. The rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable. September 2025 Because of the 2024 experience, we have chosen to stay at White Swan Guest House. They continue to go above and beyond, and it was great to reconnect with Alice again.'

'A 20 mins drive from meizhouxi station. Location is convenient. Going to the Jiangbei pedestrian street is a 15 mins drive. Next to the hotel is a convenience store which closes at 12midnight. Breakfast is only average. Soundproofing is good. Overall is a good hotel to stay.'

'The entrance and the lobby of the hotel looked more like a jade and furniture display store than the usual hotel lobby. The night club and massage parlor in the same building gave the impression of an entertainment outlet. However, the rooms were well- appointed like a modern business hotel with auto-flush toilet and voice-controlled lightning, A/C, and TV. The mattress could be a little firm for some but was perfect for my back. Although the shower's water took almost 2 minutes to get hot, the water pressure was excellent. Except for a frosted glass for the shower and another for the toilet, there was no wall partition. There was no fridge in the room. The included breakfast was simple with some traditional Hakka dishes and snacks. Only hardboiled eggs are available as there was no egg station. Breakfast selections were 95% the same for both mornings. There are numerous eateries, cafes, convenience stores, and supermarkets around the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.'

'복건성, 광동성 8개 도시를 여행했는데 이 호텔에 도착하니 하이라이트가 나타났습니다. 하룻밤 묵었는데 느낌이 매우 좋고 가격 대비 성능이 매우 높았습니다. 1 : 위치가 좋고 정무 센터 로터리 가장자리에 위치하며 메이장 귀도 공원과 멀지 않아 여행, 주차, 관람이 편리합니다. 둘째: 서비스 태도가 좋습니다. 프론트 데스크의 경비원, 안나 외 웨이터, 13층 청소 직원, 레스토랑 웨이터, 차를 주차하는 순간부터 연락했던 아침 식사 웨이터 모두 세심하게 배려해 주었습니다. 정중하고 세심하며 열정적입니다. 엄지손가락을 치켜세우세요. 셋: 시설이 좋습니다. 샤워실에 물이 많고, 빨랫줄과 수건 걸이가 있습니다. 손님을 위해 생각할 수 있는 모든 것이 다 갖춰져 있어 매우 편리합니다. 4: 아침 식사는 풍부하고 다양하며 품질이 좋습니다. 다섯번째: 방이 깨끗하고 조용합니다. 메이저우에 다시 오신다면 이 호텔을 제1의 선택이 아닌 제2의 선택이 될 것입니다.'

이 호텔의 모든 것이 가까워서 마음에 들어서 숙박을 이틀 더 연장했습니다. 위치가 정말 좋았습니다. 호텔은 인근 마을과 관광지까지 걸어갈 수 있는 거리에 있지만, 큰길을 건너야 합니다. 직원들은 매우 친절했고, 저희가 방문하고 싶었던 외딴 곳(몇몇 툴루즈와 계단식 논)으로 갈 수 있도록 운전기사를 찾아주었습니다. 객실은 매우 깨끗하고, 불필요한 것 없이 현대적이었으며, 아름다운 전망을 자랑했고, 밤에는 매우 조용했습니다. 호렐 아침 식사는 아주 맛있었습니다. 마을에는 몇 개의 레스토랑이 있었는데, 저희가 고른 곳은 맛있었고, 이 작은 마을의 따뜻한 분위기가 전반적으로 마음에 들었습니다.

中文如下 We arrived in Songkou planning to explore the town, and since it was already getting late, we also began considering finding a place to stay for the night. The hotel’s location immediately stood out — perfectly situated between the parking lot and the waterfront square, making it incredibly convenient while still feeling connected to the heart of the town. The building itself is beautifully restored and carries deep historical character, as it once served as the old ticket station where the ferry used to dock. You can really feel the thoughtful care that went into transforming this heritage structure into a hotel — the preservation work is evident in every detail, blending history with comfort in a way that feels both respectful and welcoming. The staff on March 1st were exceptionally warm and attentive — both the gentleman and the lady were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they truly made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. They personally showed us the room and offered to help with our luggage, checked in on our food order, and even came by afterward to clear the plates. Their knowledge of the area was impressive, and they happily shared suggestions on what to see and do nearby. Meanwhile, fireworks were still going off in the distance, adding a festive atmosphere to the evening. The hotel itself continues to impress the more you explore it — a carefully restored historic space filled with thoughtful touches, including a lovely fruit platter in the room. There is also an interesting hall dedicated to Hakka culture that doubles as an event venue, and a stunning bar on the top floor overlooking the water, where we could watch people setting off fireworks across the river. Very conveniently located. Right opposite a bus terminal. We boarded bus no. 18 from the Mei Zhou West station to this terminal. The hotel is right opposite the bus terminal. Across the street, you can also find a lot of shops. Just continue walking for about 10-15 minutes to reach the popular pedestrian street: JiaYing Old street. The nearest bus stand (not the bus terminal) which is less than five minutes walk diagonally opposite the hotel will allow you to catch the bus to the Hakka museum. It is worth going to the Hakka museum to have a in depth understanding about the Hakka clans in this part of the world. The other interesting place to visit is NanKou, Hakka villages where you can see Hakka Dragon houses or Wei Long Wu. Buses#9 and #24 travel to and fro Mei Jiang city and NanKou village. The hotel room is clean, sound-proof, spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff are generally helpful except one whom we met during the day shift. She seemed to be reluctant to help us when we asked about the local attractions. And unlike the other hotels that we have been staying in, we were told that we will be charged 3 yuan for one extra bottle of water. But later they still gave us two extra bottles without any charges. Thank you.

Wonderful stay at Jingwan Hotel, Songkou. I had a fantastic experience staying at Jingwan Hotel, conveniently located near Songkou Ancient Town, a charming historic area known for its peaceful atmosphere and cultural heritage. The room was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was especially comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring. What truly made this hotel stand out, however, was the exceptional customer service. I received tremendous help from Xiao Zhu, who went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. She guided me on how to get to the hotel, recommended places to visit and eat, and patiently communicated with me through WeChat despite the language barrier. Her kindness didn’t stop there—she even gave me a ride to the bus station on her bike, which I deeply appreciated. I highly recommend Jingwan Hotel to anyone visiting Songkou. The warm hospitality alone makes it worth the stay!

The service was good. The hotel staff were very friendly even if we had a language barrier. (My fault of course not theirs). The bed was extremely comfortable I enjoyed it and the room was large. It was such a romantic room. The Wi-Fi is amazing and fast. The room had good noise cancellation. I only heard people if they were right outside my door but I couldn't hear anybody if they were in their room. I loved the layout of the room very cozy. Delivery always came to my door if I ordered from ******* so that was convenient.  The negative thing I could say was that if someone was smoking in the room below me it traveled upwards to my room. It was nasty smell. But the room smelled amazing when I first got there. It's only if other guests are smoking below the room is where it travels upward. I don't think that is something they can control so I didn't mind it much. It isn't close to the tourist areas so you either have to get a Didi or walk about 20 minutes.  Overall: I liked it and I would stay again.

The hotel is conveniently situated at a junction where you can find food very easily. There is also a supermarket nearby so we could just stroll over to grab a yogurt drink after meal. The hotel room looked dated and it’s observable from the design and the bathroom, as well as the carpets. However, the room is reasonably clean and service was sincere, friendly and prompt. I sent some clothes for laundry and the staff took the effort to inform me that the clothes would be hand washed then dried under the sun so they should be ready by evening time later on. She also informed me of the pricing, then went on to ask if I was alright with that. I like it that they are very clear with charges and there is no hidden cost. Service was also very prompt. I asked for more water at the concierge when I came back from dinner and the room service staff was already waiting for me at my room door with the water by the time I got out of the lift. The beds were clean and comfortable too. My aunt and I rested well for the two nights we stayed there. The only negative was probably the air conditioner which was quite loud. But once we fell asleep, it didn’t bother us. There is also a very cute tea set in the room which guests could utilize if they wanted tea. It would have been better if they had given us four bottles of water instead of two. Then we would have been having our little tea appreciation session more regularly.
