Staying at the Rex Hotel is like wandering onto the set of the 1932 MGM film ”Grand Hotel.” Morning begins with a lavish buffet breakfast in the Beaux-Arts-style ballroom. The host, wearing a tuxedo, welcomes you with a warm and enthusiastic smile. Then you'll take a swim in the gorgeous 6th floor pool under a tropical sky. Throughout the day, gracious staff members are available to make your stay a memorable one. In the evening, cocktails and dinner are served on the lovely rooftop, with sweeping views of the city. Indeed, when you stay at the Rex, you've finally experienced a Grand Hotel.

From the moment we entered, it felt like we had come home! The hotel lobby looked magnificent with a huge table of fresh flowers in the centre and people coming and going. Check-in was quick and efficient, although it would have been even nicer had the receptionist registered that this was a return visit for us and greeted us accordingly. Our room, with pool view, had been exquisitely prepared and the décor was light and inviting. The bathroom was a quite confined space with, as another reviewer had noted, only a single vanity unit. There was a rain shower and conventional wall mounted shower, both with excellent pressure. The tiled floor in the shower area can be quite slippery, but we did eventually locate a rubber shower mat at the back of the wardrobe. Surprisingly for Asia, there was no bidet hose (“bum gun”) in the toilet. The drawers of the vanity unit contained a hairdryer and all manner of little extras for those who arrive without their own. Usefully, there was a steam iron and ironing board in the cupboard and a hairdryer is also provided. The towels, which were of a very thick, rather rough, cotton, had seen better days and lacked absorbency. We found the bath-size towels very heavy in use. The mattresses on our two single beds were of a previous generation and not the most comfortable found in hotels of this stature nowadays. The electrical sockets in the room were hard to fathom, with quite significant pressure (disconcertingly so) required at times to insert the adapters (supplied), which seemed counter-intuitive. There is a touchscreen panel to adjust the temperature of the aircon, but unlike any touch-screen I have come across, these require a sharp tap with the nail on the screen to operate. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, but we found the food options on offer around the swimming pool to be disappointing and unimaginative. The pool itself and the entire pool area are amazing, with comfortable sun loungers and an attentive service from the pool staff. We did not eat in the hotel restaurants, preferring instead to go out to eat in the evening. The hotel is beautifully decorated and conveys an atmosphere of peacefulness and serenity. The staff in all the areas of the hotel that we encountered were most helpful and polite. Despite the few little niggles that I have noted, our week-long stay was both highly enjoyable and rejuvenating and we only wish that we could have stayed longer in this first-class hotel. We shall definitely return next time we visit Saigon.

매우 친절하며 대기없이 바로 입실안내 받았어요 또한 한국인매니저님(남자분) 매너가 좋으십니다~^^ 문의시 안내를 꼼꼼하게 잘 해주셔서 든든합니다. 대부분 호차민 호텔앞이 복잡해 택시타고 내리기 어렵습니다. 하지만 쉐라톤은 택시가 수시로 대기중이며 타고 내리기 안전합니다. 걸어서 투어하기 좋은 위치입니다.저의 룸은 5층바에서 조식이 가능했어요.조식권 사용 꼭 하셔요.하루두번 다림질 서비스해줍니다. 베드도 청결하고 청소상태 좋습니다. 23층 뷰좋아요. 5층 수영장 깨끗하고 음료서비스됩니다. 5층에 스파도 있었는데 리뉴얼공사중이였어요. 로비층에 구찌매장 연결되어 있구요. 바로 건너건물에 루이비통이 있구요. 근처에 쇼핑,투어,마사지,식사 다 있어 여행하기 좋은위치압니다. 부부여행 왔어요.

I would like to share my recent experience staying at the Hotel Continental in Saigon. To be frank, it was not a pleasant stay for me. I only stayed for one night, but it was enough to leave a bad impression. Let me start with the negative aspects of my stay. I had booked a room with a garden view, but what I got was a room with a view of a wall and partly a roof, which was very dirty. When I complained to the staff, the person just laughed and told me that they knew about this room, but it was officially listed as a garden view. I found this to be unprofessional and unfriendly behavior. The hotel should not be advertising a room with a garden view when it does not provide one. The room itself was okay, I guess. It was enough for one night's sleep, but the hotel overall felt old and outdated. They could use some modernization while still retaining the continental style. The bathroom was clean, which was a relief. The breakfast was also disappointing. The staff ignored me, so I did not get any coffee or tea. The choices were limited, and I felt like they were just going through the motions without any real effort. Now, on to the positive aspect of the hotel: the location is excellent. It is situated in the heart of Saigon, close to many tourist attractions and restaurants. This is probably the only reason I would consider staying here again. Overall, my experience at the Hotel Continental in Saigon was not a positive one. While the location is great, the service and amenities need improvement. I hope the management takes these criticisms seriously and makes the necessary changes to provide a better experience for future guests.

전체적인 시설은 노후화 되었지만 내부는 깔끔합니다.현재 리모델링 진행중에 있다고 하나 공사 소음은 없습니다.주말(토요일,일요일)에는 밤 10시 정도 까지 음악소리가 있으나 그 외에는 조용하게 지냈습니다. 직원들은 다들 친절하고 조식 또한 개인적으로 좋았습니다. 화장실은 오래된 호텔이다 보니 조금한 욕조가 있고 샤워기가 있습니다.(샤워 부스는 없습니다.) 호텔 위치는 아주 좋습니다..(벤탄시장. 사이공스퀘어, 사이공센터등 도보 10분 이내 입니다) 근처 GS25시, 환전가능한곳(GS25시 편의점 앞, 가끔 하탐보다 환율 좋고, 5만원권도 받습니다) 참고로 전 5박 숙박 했습니다.

I doubt that there is another small hotel in Ho Chi Minh City that so well evokes the baroque ambience and class of the small hotels of Paris -- and the staff here is much more hospitable than in those places. Now that the Covid pandemic has more or less ended, my wife and I have returned to find that the Spring is still the same -- warm, welcoming, comfortable, a quiet refuge near the center of historic Saigon. One thing we like especially -- every morning, guests can order Vietnamese soups and other specialties for the next day's breakfast; it's a nice alternative to eggs and bacon.

공항에서 버스로 5000 으로 올 수 있습니다. 근처에 큰 벤탄 시장이 있으며 주요 관광지도 대략 도보 거리에있어 매우 편리합니다. 직접 사용할 수있는 세탁실은 없지만 호텔 근처에 세탁소가 있으며 호텔에서 요청할 수있는 것 같습니다 (나는 사용하지 않지만 카운터 뒤에 게시물이있었습니다). 방도 샤워 실도 깨끗하고 침대도 컸습니다. 단, 커튼의 틈이 많고, 또한 얇기 때문에 내부에서 조명을 켜면 외부에 실루엣이 선명하게 나와 조금 걱정되었습니다. 큰 사물함이 있으며, 짐을 많이 수납 할 수 있습니다. 입구가 식당 안에 있다는 것은 별 신경 쓰지 않았습니다. 목욕 타월은 하루에 1 장 사용할 수 있지만, 교환 시스템으로 오래된 것을 가져 가지 않으면 새로운 것을 얻을 수 없다는 것은 조금 불편하다고 느꼈습니다. 종합적으로 매우 좋았 기 때문에 다시 사용하고 싶습니다.

호치민은 베트남에서도 적도 부근에 더 가까운 남쪽편에 위치해 있기 때문에 연중 내내 기온이 높으며 계절은 우기와 건기로 분류되어 있습니다. 건기 시즌은 11월에 시작해서 5월 중순까지 지속되며 날씨는 덥고 비는 거의 내리지 않습니다. 이 때 가장 더운 시기는 4월에서 5월 중순입니다. 심지어 습도까지도 80%에서 90%까지 올라가기 때문에 매우 후덥지근한 날씨가 이 시기에 지속됩니다. 우기는 5월에 시작하여 10월까지 지속되며 대략 1시간 가량 지속되는 소나기가 매일 내립니다. 비가 내리고 난 뒤에는 날씨가 매우 상쾌하지만 메콩강 삼각주 부근에서는 종종 홍수가 일어나기도 합니다. 호치민을 여행하기 가장 좋은 시기는 12월에서 2월 사이로 날씨가 상대적으로 선선하며 비가 많이 내리지 않습니다.

위에서 언급한 것처럼 호치민에는 프랑스 양식의 건축물들이 많이 있는데 도심을 돌아다니다 보면 이러한 유형으로 지어진 고급 호텔들을 손쉽게 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 특히 벤탄시장(Ben Thanh Market) 부근으로 이러한 고급 호텔들이 주변에 많이 있는데 그 이유는 이 곳 근처에 편의시설과 쇼핑시설이 잘 갖추어져 있을 뿐만 아니라 통일궁(Independence Palace) 그리고 호치민 노트르담 대성당(Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon)과 같은 잘 알려진 관광 명소가 걸어서 갈 수 있을 만큼 가까이에 있기 때문입니다. 또한 팜 응우 라오 거리(Pham Ngu Lao Street)에는 백패커들이 머무를 수 있는 가성비 좋은 숙박 시설들이 다양하게 갖추어져 있어 저예산으로 여행하는 사람들에게 추천하고 있으며 차이나타운도 지리적으로 좋은 위치에 있기 때문에 인근에 머무는 것을 권장하고 있습니다. 참고로 호치민 국제 공항 혹은 사이공 기차역과 같이 교통 시설과 가까운 곳에도 숙박 시설들이 있긴 하지만 주변으로 돌아다닐 만한 곳이 많이 없기 때문에 교통 시설을 급히 이용해야 하는 상황에 처해 있는 제한적인 상황에서만 이곳을 이용하는 경우가 있습니다.
