"We had the most amazing week.The hotel was immaculate throughout and the private pool was absolutely incredible — perfect for relaxing in peace. Room large and spotless! Maria and George, the owners, were incredibly welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. The bar staff were also fantastic — so friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Food available to order and always cooked fresh,delicious. The whole area is peaceful and quiet, but still really convenient with shops and restaurants both down the hill and up the hill nearby. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely love to come back again. Maria and George were waiting ages for us to be picked up to see us off home. They only went for second to do something and missed us ( the bar staff waved us off 🥰) Maria rang us! Whilst we was on the bus home to say sorry they missed us go! Beautiful people. "Breakfast and dinner were very good, and you could also sit outside and relax. There weren't many seats inside, though. The hotel is divided into two buildings, so you might have to change buildings (across the street) to get to reception or eat your meals. But that didn't bother me. The manager also lends a hand, whether at dinner or at reception late in the evening. All the staff are very polite and take good care of the hotel guests. I was even spoken to in German once or twice. The staff could have asked me about drinks at dinner, but I'm not deducting a point for that. Perhaps it's intended that hotel guests eat in peace and approach the staff about it themselves. The beach promenade with several bars is not far from the hotel (a 5-10-minute walk), and kiosks and a bus station (used by both tour operators and public transport on Crete) are just a 3-minute walk away. The room was nice and had a balcony. It's also worth mentioning that the hotel also has a small pool. I paid around 100 euros for 3 nights (breakfast and dinner included), and the price is truly unbeatable."

"We stayed here for a week in September. Everything was perfect! Check-in was at 3:00 in the afternoon, we arrived at 8 in the morning. We were welcomed very nicely from the moment we arrived and were led to the room much earlier, when one of the rooms was ready. All the employees are very friendly and ready to give you advice about services in the area (public transport, car rentals, places to visit). It is cleaned every day, and the cleaning ladies do an excellent job. Breakfast is approximately the same every morning, but it is a varied buffet so that you don't have time in a week to eat everything on the buffet. The food was very good every day! Our experience here was very pleasant, there was no problem."

"We stayed at Heliotrope Apartments in July 2025 and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. The accommodation was extremely dirty – cockroaches were present in several areas of the apartment. Despite an immediate complaint on site, nothing was done, neither cleaning nor a room change. The staff showed absolutely no interest. The incident was also reported multiple times via the booking platform Agoda, including photographic evidence. Nevertheless, we were only offered a very small compensation, which in no way reflects reality. The apartment was unacceptable in this condition, and the provider's response was disappointing. I cannot recommend this accommodation and strongly advise caution when booking it."

"We have already visited 15 Greek islands, we were welcomed everywhere, but Crete pleasantly surprised us. The owner of the hotel, Leonidas, confirmed this with kindness and made us feel at home. He took care of affordable car rental and parking. He gave us the best room with a wonderful view only because of one small remark of the bright lights that shone into the interior of the first room. The hotel is in the center of the city, but a bit set back so there is no traffic. An ideal starting point for excursions. Beautiful art paintings are hung on the walls of the corridors and lounge. "We stayed here for 7 nights in a sea view suite ( which was obstructed by another building in front) but was still a lovely room. Very spacious and well maintained. Check in is all done on your smart phone when you arrive, which is different from the norm, but worked. The hotel is located close to many tavernas which all serve lovely food. A 15 min walk takes you to the next village of Koutouloufari which has many more lovely tavernas. The hotel had 3 pools and plenty of sun beds. The beds in front of the restaurant are very comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection to choose from. We found the staff so friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Dora who was amazing. Full of life and always smiling 😊 The only negative was you had to pay a €20 euro deposit for your towel and if you want to change it cost another €3.00! Overall a lovely clean hotel, quiet location which was nice so wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it."

"This was our 5th stay at this hotel, which says it all really! It’s a lovely, well-maintained hotel in a fantastic location. Very friendly staff too. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and I particularly loved the Greek yoghurt each morning. Lunches are generous and freshly prepared too. Definitely try the salads, they are excellent. The pool area is clean and well looked after, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds. The music around the pool can be quite loud at times, but that’s a matter of personal preference. There are also some beautiful beaches nearby if you fancy a change of scenery. The location is perfect, with restaurants, bars and beaches all within walking distance, and it’s only a short taxi ride to the Old Town. A couple of minor points: the rooms can be quite dark, don’t have a full-length mirror, and the hairdryers aren’t particularly powerful, so you may want to bring your own. I always take a travel mirror too. The hotel provides basic shower gel, and there’s a fridge in the room which is handy for keeping drinks cold. Overall, another wonderful stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again."

It’s clean and well-maintained, the room is spacious and includes a balcony and a kitchenette. And of course, Stella herself was wonderful and became a friend. "We stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed the peaceful location, right in the old part of the village. The staff were wonderful – very friendly, warm, and welcoming. The lady at the reception was incredibly kind and helpful, and the housekeeper, Mira, was very attentive and professional. The rooms are modern and spotlessly clean, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was tasty and had a good variety, though it was the same every day. The only downsides were the cold water in the pool and the long walk to the promenade and beaches. Other than that, we had a great stay and have nothing to complain about."
