For safety purposes we recommend that you head to 5th Street or Hayman during the busier times of the year because those access points have a stop light with a crosswalk to cross N Croatan which can be busy during peak times. As for the Avalon Pier access, if you walk straight down Sportsman to the beach, you can access to the right of the pier entrance!Kitty Hawk Bay is due West from our house down Sportsman. We highly recommend you head down that way for sunsets at night, but also at anytime during the day because the Bay Drive trail runs along the bay for several miles in each direction. You can use this for walking, running, biking, but it also leads to the Avalon Beach Kitty Hawk Bay Boat Launch where you can launch boats, jetskis, canoes, kayaks, etc.The shed in the backyard will have 3-4 bikes for your use. Also in the shed is a Solo stove fire pit for your use (wood not included). We also have a paddle board that we provide at your request. We are afforded a "Stop Light" intersection on 1st - during the busier times of the year this is a huge positive in the OBX because those access points have a stop light with a crosswalk to cross N Croatan which can be busy during peak times. Kitty Hawk Bay is due Northwest from our Cabin. We highly recommend you head down that way to the Bay Ave Walking/Biking trail for sunsets at night, but also at anytime during the day because the Bay Drive trail runs along the bay for several miles in each direction. You can use this for walking, running, biking. It also leads to the Avalon Beach Kitty Hawk Bay Boat Launch where you can launch boats, jetskis, canoes, kayaks, etc. Additionally, if you take the trail South, you can actually walk or ride bikes to the Wright Brother's Memorial from the back way along 1st Street.The garage has a secondary fridge for guest use. It is also equipped with at least 6 bikes - sometimes up to 10 for guest use. Also in the garage are some lawn games including corn hole and bocce.STRICT NO SMOKING & NO PET POLICY - If you are found to be smoking within the home or bring a pet, there will be $500 fine.This is a family home - we use it to vacation and visit family in the OBX. Our home was built in the 50's and we've kept the charm with some modern touches. Two blocks from Avalon Pier and the ocean. Three bedroom, one bath home with open living space. The front room has a queen memory foam bed, dresser, closet with hangers and a suitcase stand and a smart tv. Middle room has two twin memory foam beds, night stand in the middle and a closet with hangers. The back room has a queen memory foam bed, dresser, closet with hangers and a suitcase stand and a smart tv. One full bathroom inside with all the necessitiesOutside shower and washer/dryer access in the back yard. Screened in front porch with ac unit, fan and functioning windows for that perfect salt breeze. Enjoy our Nags Head hammock on the front porch.Our home is 2 blocks from the beach, so no need to drive anywhere to enjoy the beauties of the OBX.
