'My wife and I went to the Outer Banks for a day and a half adventure that involved needing a hotel room. I chose shutters based on being located near one of the music venues we would be visiting. We are both free pleased with our stay.
It was of course in the winter and off-season so we didn’t have any crowds anywhere which was perfect for us.
It was everything we needed and expected and nothing we didn’t need. It was perfect.'

You will find your stay to be relaxing, peaceful and rejuvenating. Oyster Pointe is 3/4 mile to the beach, close to local entertainment attractions and bike paths. When you are not at the beach you can enjoy the tennis courts or the pool. Our large deck, complete with deck furniture overlooks the community pool. The bike paths allow you to walk or ride along the sound and take in the beautiful sunsets. Amenities included are a well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, WIFI, games, and books. This space adopted a Green Turtle - Travel with Purpose when you stay with us and assist in global efforts to help save this beautiful endangered species! No steps to contend with! Covered porch and propane grill greet you at the entrance which leads into full size kitchen and dining area for four. Spacious living room with smart TV, large L-shaped leather couch! Two bedrooms with closets & ceiling fans plus your own controlled AC/Heat in every room! One king bed and one queen! One full bath with tiled shower!
Enough parking for 1 vehicle preferably.
If your group is larger then 4 there are two other spaces that are available to be rented separately! Inquire with your host if you are interested in these spaces as well!

This home was fully remodeled inside and out last year and is thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. It is an ideal beach retreat for a small family of four or two couples. The home features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including a spacious king master suite with a private master bathroom. The master bedroom also includes a cozy sitting area and direct access to the backyard and deck.
The second bedroom offers a queen bed along with a twin bed, making it perfect for children or additional guests. Fresh linens are provided on all beds, along with bath towels, beach towels, and kitchen towels for your convenience.
Laminate and hardwood floors run throughout the home, complementing the modern kitchen, which features granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. Feel, see, and hear the ocean at "Rogue Wave" - located 3 lots back from the ocean in Kill Devil Hills and featuring ocean views from the open concept dining and living areas and from the expansive, livable deck space overlookiong the fenced in yard and fire pit. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is located at milepost 5.5 on a quiet non-through street, just a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach accesses at Sibbern Ave or Arch St. (0.2 mile).
The space
This is a classic but updated "beach box" style construction 3 bedroom 2 bath house located just three lots back from the ocean in Kill Devil Hills in a quiet, residential neighborhood near the end of a dead-end road.
Our cottage offers:
Ocean views from the living and dining areas and extensive deck space on multiple levels
Open concept living area with a fully stocked kitchen and large Hi-Def smart TV with Roku
High speed cable internet
Dining table seating for 6 and two additional stools at the bar/island.
Sliding glass doors from the living area open up to a large deck space with Adirondack seats for 6.
Large "crows nest " level with 180 degree ocean views and additional seating.
A gate at the entrance from the main level deck to so you don't have to worry about your furry friends wandering while you enjoy the space.
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom features a king-size bed, an en suite full bathroom, and a walk-in shower.
Second bedroom with a queen size bed
Third bedroom with a single bed and a set of (single) bunkbeds.
All bedrooms have smart TVs with streaming. (We do not have cable television.)
The second full bathroom is in the hallway, featuring a tub/shower combo.
Linens and bath towels are provided
Ground Level:
Detached laundry with a full-size washer and dryer and drink fridge
Beach wagon, umbrella, beach chairs, and cornhole boards
Decking under the house with seating.
Gas grill
Private outdoor shower
* Fenced in yard with wood fire pit.
Guest access
Guests have access the entire home and property with the exception of a locked owner's closet and storage room downstairs.
Other things to note
The minimum age to rent is 25. We do require a signed rental agreement.
ABSOLUTELY no parties or outside overnight guests will be allowed. You will be asked to leave immediately and will not receive a refund of any kind.
This is a dog-friendly rental. While we and our cleaners are as thorough as possible, if you have pet allergies, this listing may not be suitable for you.
Dogs only - maximum of 2 dogs allowed. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your dog. Dogs must be house-trained, friendly (in case we need to access the house), up to date on flea meds and shots, and well-socialized. Dogs are not to be left alone unattended in the house uncrated for extended periods of time. Be sure to pick up after your dog in all areas and keep your dog off the furniture. If you have a "shedding" type breed, clean-up also means hair within reason. Failure to do so or any damage from your dog will result in an additional fee.
if you use the grill please clean it before departure for the next guests. Our cleaners do not clean grills. If you use the last of the propane in one of the tanks, please let us know or replace it.
If you break something, please replace it or let us know ahead of time so that we can be proactive for the next guests. We know accidents happen - just help us out!
We provide one set of bath towels per expected guest. We do not provide beach towels.
We provide the first roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. Additional needs are the guests' responsibility.
We are your neighbors and live just a couple of miles away. We are super laid back but expect that you will respect our space and the rules.

Ground level surf shack apartment located conveniently on the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills yet literally a stone throw away from the Kitty Hawk line! Enjoy ocean sounds right from your kitchen/living room. Skip across the road to private beach access! Knotty pine throughout in this 1955 year old one of a kind space! Easy access to all the OBX has to offer! BONUS - bring your furry four-legged buddy!
The space
This space adopted a Blue Whale - Travel with Purpose when you stay with us and assist in global efforts to help save this beautiful endangered species! No steps to contend with! Covered Tiki bar and propane grill greet you at the entrance which leads into full size kitchen and dining area for four. Spacious living room with smart TV, large couch and rocking chair! Two bedrooms with dresser and closets in each! One king bed and one queen! Your own controlled AC/Heat in every room! One full bath with shower/tub combo (Note - there is one step up into tub).
Enough parking for 1 vehicle preferably.
If your group is larger than 4 there are two other spaces that are available to be rented separately! Inquire with your host if you are interested in these spaces as well!
Guest access
Everything in your space is for your enjoyment including the Tiki Bar, propane grill, and outdoor hose at entrance. Inside is all yours except for the locked owners closet.
Other things to note
One bath towel, wash cloth, beach towel, and beach chair provided per person!
Private beach access for all Pelican guests is directly across from driveways.
Nearest public beach access is Arch St.
