The 104-acre Out of Africa is one of the most unique wildlife parks (don’t call it a zoo!) in the country and the perfect place to bring the family. Cliff Castle Casino has been rated as the state’s best casino for over a decade, not just for its gaming and entertainment, but because it also offers venues for the entire family.Head into town and visit area antique stores or stop in for a bite to eat at any of the local restaurants.Our home is fully equipped with the basic amenities to make your stay feel like you are 'at home'! About this spaceThere is something wild about this place. This is where Zane Gray may have written one of his books in the unique southwest. Vincent Van Gough may have chosen to paint the starry night & the cliffs in 7 different shades here if he had lived in America. Sunrises & sunsets from this private balcony, your living room, bedroom, bathroom will take your breath away! We want to share it with those who love art & writing.The spaceIt is full of indigenous arts & collections (baskets, Navajo rugs. potteries, paintings, books, wood carvings, wall hangings, beaded necklaces, Etc.) from Native America, the pacific islands, and around the world. It is a bit of an art gallery! Don't worry- it is okay to pick up and touch.Guest accessIt feels like it is in the middle of nowhere, and yet it is only a few short blocks to Downtown, Camp Verde, where you can visit the restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores, and museum Our Cliff View Home is near the Verde River and Clear Creek, which runs right through this green valley.Montezuma Castle is only five miles away. There are hiking and mountain bike trails nearby. The red rocks of Sedona are only 27 miles away. There are ancient cliff cave dwellings just down the road less than 10 minutes from here.You will pass an old unkempt house and an overgrown field before you get to our Cliff View Casita, but this is holistic - life is not perfect! I can not apologize for someone else's messy place or their fields. But, once you turn into our street, a stunning view will open before you!Kids stay free. However, it may be best to book downstairs if you're concerned about many artifacts being handled by your kids or the high balcony.Other things to noteOur home is close to Camp Verde downtown and Fort Verde State Park & the historic Hance house. You can easily walk around the town and visit this old cowboy town that dates back to 1870. Plus, we have the Yavapai Apache tribal headquarters and Cliff Castle Casino 3 miles away which periodically has cultural events.Since Camp Verde sits right in the center of Arizona like a donut hole- you can drive to Sedona, Prescott, Jerome, Strawberry and Pine in about 30-45 minutes and the mountain town of Flagstaff or Payson in about an hour. The magnificent Grand Canyon is only about 2 hours north of us. The uniquely beautiful public library, farms and orchards are just down the hill where you can buy fresh corn, watermelons and other vegetables and fruit. (Please check out "Guidebook- there in "Millie's Guidebook"- you will see all my favorite places for you to visit.)Note: *kids stay free* Property owner accepts 1-week maximum booking. The Setup is an open concept with a sleeping area (King bed) shares the space with the full kitchen and dining table. There's a split unit AC/Heater and an electric fireplace - that has a "Heat and No Heat" Option for a cozy ambiance.A 4k smart TV where you can connect to your streaming accounts.All mattresses are brand new "Sealy", perfect for a good night sleep to recharge after a day of exploring.The full kitchen has a refrigerator, stove with oven and Keurig coffee maker.Full Bathroom has a shower/bathtub combination, sink and toilet.You'll have full access to the Guest House. The patio includes seating are and propane fireplace.
