Considering the central location of this little gem, it is amazingly peaceful. There is a long driveway that takes you up to the cottage, nestled in trees, with a lovely view across the valley from the balcony, the deck, or the little fenced yard. Being in downtown Ashland, it is across the street from the Cabaret Theater and a block from Lithia Park, three Oregon Shakespeare Theaters & the Green Show, the downtown movie theater, shops, restaurants, and a comprehensive hike & bike trail system. Southern Oregon University is also just a few blocks away with more art venues to enjoy. Ashland is nestled between 3 mountain ranges also, so there is plenty to explore, including the fruit orchards, lavender farms, and wineries in the valley. After skiing on Mt. Ashland, it is a great place to come back to relax with the fireplace and soaking tub. Guests are welcome to charge their electric cars in the upper parking space. Park the car the duration of your stay and feel at home in quaint little Ashland town. Spacious and artistic decor is perfect for recreation or executive stays. Our little neighborhood home in the flats of the Historic Railroad District, circa 1890, could not be closer to Ashland's local jem spots including OSF, Lithia Park, Ashland Food Co-op, restaurants, and shopping, all a quick easy walk away. Completely private, clean, and convenient. Permit: (17-00969) Ashland Artisan House.The spaceOur home is filled with color and light. Built in 1890, it has been said to be a brothel/laundry house in days gone by. Fully private and fully furnished with covered porch, double head walk in shower, double celled window shades, garden, fully loaded kitchen, wifi, cable and internet. Newly offered is a brand new stackable washer/dryer beside the refrigerator. For a good night's sleep, we have comfortable arrangements with either the king bed in the loft space or the custom pull out queen size couch in the living room is as cozy as your own bed with a 10” Spring Air mattress (pump is hung in a basket under the window in back of the sofa). The bathroom is easy access on the main floor.The owner/artists live on the premise between their 2 studios. J. Garloff Design artistic lighting pieces are featured in the home as well as in the gardens.This is a non-tenant rental agreement.Guest accessThe house is yours. There is a locked door at the back of the kitchen leading to the owners living space and art studios.Interaction with guestsIf you have any special requests or need more accommodations, we would be happy to help you find additional space for your entire party within our neighborhood.
