It was just an absolutely amazing experience from the very beginning and until the very end of our stay, not even just in the hotel, but in the city of Pingyao itself in general. Me and my friend are traveling very light and without guides, and in Pingyao we had only one day: from evening to evening of the next day. Huge huge thanks to everyone who made this day unforgettable and ultimately comfortable for tired us: Alice, Helen, Fenny, Hana, and all others who was there for us. The hotel service is simply excellent: as soon as they learned about our late arrival, they immediately offered to meet us at the railway station, which was absolutely the sweetest thing. They brought us to the city gate, met us there, and walked us to the hotel. There they gave us a map, on which they explained in great detail where everything is, what is worth paying attention to, how it is better to build the route, and what opening hours different sights have. They also helped us organize a private transfer to Shaolin Temple the next morning. It was just perfect: we got there in 15 minutes instead of one and a half hours by foot, and after our walk in the temple they met us and brought us back. Also on the evening of arrival they helped us immediately buy the ticket for visiting all attractions of the city, valid for three days. And also they advised us where to eat, and gave us a hotel discount in both places. We did not regret it even once, the food was amazingly delicious in both places! The hotel itself is just wonderful: it really looks exactly like in the photos. You want to photograph every corner and record how the sparrows are chirping on the roof, and how two wonderful cats are meowing. The room also matches and even exceeds expectations. A huge kang bed, very comfortable. Excellent shower with everything needed. Breakfast is included in the stay: the traditional Chinese one was very tasty! Unfortunately, we did not manage to eat the egg, it was freshly boiled and still hot, but we were hurrying to Shaolin Temple by opening time. Also the hotel has a laundry service, and special thanks for that too! Washing and drying were very fast, and we got our nicely smelling clothes back already after four hours, which was critical for us, because we were leaving the same day. We felt like we really were honored guests, and we really appreciated it, even if only for one day.

체크인할 때 과일 플래터로 맞아주었는데, 캘리포니아에서 중국 다퉁까지 논스톱으로 약 24시간 전에 집을 나선 것을 생각하면 정말 반가운 환영 인사였습니다. 이 여관은 처음 방문하는 외국인에게 멋진 경험을 선사합니다. 실내 장식은 예술 작품, 책 전시, 8마리의 큰 물고기(잉어였던 것 같습니다)가 있는 수족관, 그리고 대부분의 서양인에게는 생소할 법한 테이블 위에 놓인 전기 스토브가 있는 객실 내 차 세트 등 중국적인 매력이 물씬 풍깁니다. 유리 바닥은 제가 수십 개국을 여행했지만 호텔에서 이런 경험을 해본 적이 없어서 더욱 특별하게 느껴집니다. 여관은 위치가 좋습니다. 다퉁 기차역(비고속철도 이용 시)*까지는 버스로, 다퉁 남역(고속철도 이용 시)**까지는 택시로 금방 갈 수 있습니다. 다퉁 성벽 바로 옆에 위치해 있어 성벽 꼭대기를 따라 무료로 산책할 수 있습니다. 고대 성벽 내 거의 모든 명소는 도보로 10~20분 거리에 있습니다. 이곳에는 현지 음식을 판매하는 다양한 레스토랑과 기념품 가게도 있습니다. 숙소에서 도보 5분 거리에는 음료(맥주 포함)를 비롯한 잡화를 파는 작은 가게도 있습니다. 이 잡화점 맞은편에는 고대 중국 의상(한복)을 전문으로 하는 가게가 있습니다. 화장품을 포함한 다양한 의상을 입혀드릴 수 있습니다. 이 여관은 다퉁 여행객들에게 인기 있는 명소인 위젠윈강(Yujian Yun Gang)으로 가는 길을 안내합니다. 이곳에서는 크고 높은(몇 층 높이의) 조각상을 포함한 고대 불교 동굴 벽화를 볼 수 있습니다. 버스를 두 번 타야 하며, 요금은 1위안입니다. 저는 1층 또는 2층 게스트룸을 예약하려고 했지만, 멋진 2층 게스트룸을 배정받았습니다. 여관 주인분들은 매우 친절했습니다. 어머니와 딸을 모두 만나 뵙고, 제 방은 전문적으로 청소해 주셨고 매일 생수도 제공해 주셨습니다. 다음에 다퉁에 다시 온다면 꼭 이 여관에 묵을 겁니다. *체크아웃 후 이 역에서 기차를 타고 남쪽으로 신저우까지 갔습니다. **베이징 다싱 국제공항에서 다퉁에 도착했습니다.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at in China! We honestly didn’t expect to be this impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful and atmospheric. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, making it feel like you’re staying in a boutique museum rather than a hotel. The entire property is incredibly aesthetic, and every part of it is a perfect spot for beautiful photos. We stayed in a stunning two-level room, which completely exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, stylish, exceptionally comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Every little detail had been carefully considered. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Datong Ancient Town. We could walk everywhere, with all the main attractions, restaurants, and beautiful streets just a few minutes away. The staff were some of the friendliest we’ve ever met. Everyone was genuinely welcoming, kind, and always happy to help, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Breakfast was also excellent. Instead of a buffet, a freshly prepared traditional Chinese breakfast was served each morning. It was delicious, beautifully presented, and the perfect start to the day. One of the nicest surprises was that guests can borrow traditional Chinese costumes free of charge for a photo shoot around the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough free time to try it ourselves, but it’s such a wonderful idea and gives us another reason to come back. We travel a lot and have stayed in countless hotels around the world, so it’s actually very difficult to surprise us. But this hotel genuinely did. If it were possible to give 100 stars instead of 5, we absolutely would. Even if we really wanted to find something to complain about, we honestly couldn’t. Everything was simply perfect. Without any doubt, this is one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. If we ever return to Datong, we won’t even consider staying anywhere else. We will definitely come back. Highly, highly recommended!

이번에 친구가 펜에 와서 새로 오픈한 호텔을 보고 사진 속 스타일이 너무 예뻐서 한 번 가볼까 생각도 했었는데 예상보다 너무 좋아서 코멘트를 남깁니다. 우선 위치가 매우 좋고, 나구대교 바로 옆이라 어디든 이동하기 매우 편리합니다. 주차도 매우 편리하며, 지상이나 지하에 주차하시면 됩니다. 프론트 데스크의 여성은 예쁘고 예의바르며 열정적이어서 원하는 것이 무엇이든 빠르게 배달될 수 있습니다. 객실은 말할 것도 없고, 깨끗하고 편안하며, 완벽한 시설과 좋은 전망을 갖춘 새로운 호텔입니다. 추천! 다음에도 꼭 이 호텔을 선택하겠습니다!

대동 여행 중 트립닷컴에서 옛 성곽 근처에 있는 하워드 존슨 호텔 진디를 5성급으로 예약했는데, 명성 그대로였습니다! 체크인하자마자 디럭스 비즈니스 스위트룸으로 무료 업그레이드해 주셨는데, 10명이 넘는 친척과 친구들을 접대할 수 있는 식탁이 있는 스위트룸은 처음 봤습니다. 하룻밤 숙박 후 원래 예약했던 비즈니스 킹룸으로 돌아왔습니다. 킹룸도 매우 편안했고, 면적이 62제곱미터나 되어서 커튼을 걷으면 바로 대동 시내 풍경을 볼 수 있었습니다. 복도 끝까지 가면 대동 고성 전체 모습도 볼 수 있었습니다. 특히 이 5성급 호텔의 중식당은 정말 훌륭했습니다. 대동에서 3일 동안 묵으면서 한 번의 점심 식사만 혼원 고성에서 하고, 나머지 5번의 점심과 저녁 식사는 모두 호텔 중식당에서 했습니다. 여기서는 산시 특색 칼국수 한 그릇이 6위안밖에 안 했고, 혼원 량펀보다 더 맛있는 량펀 한 그릇은 겨우 3위안이었습니다. 여기서는 샤오마이를 반만 주문할 수도 있었고, 복날에는 만두도 먹을 수 있었습니다. 저는 한 번도 먹어본 적 없는 파를 넣은 사슴 힘줄 요리를 주문했는데, 술안주로 좋은 푸치페이피와 해파리 냉채도 정말 훌륭했습니다. 여기서 식사하는 것은 맛있고 비싸지 않았습니다. 200위안을 충전하면 산시 라오다퉁 궈유러우 한 접시를 추가로 받을 수 있었습니다. 또한 식당 직원들에게 특별히 칭찬하고 싶습니다. 손님을 따뜻하고 정성껏 대하며, 손님을 위해 과도하게 주문하지 않도록 조언해 주는 것이 정말 좋았습니다! 요약하자면, 호텔과 식당 모두 5점 만점에 5점을 주고 싶습니다. 마지막 사진은 호텔 조식인데, 이것 또한 정말 훌륭했습니다. 호텔에는 두 개의 조식당이 있어서 손님이 많아도 붐비지 않았습니다!

Il nostro soggiorno a Jing’s Residence, in famiglia, è stato davvero indimenticabile. l’hotel è una residenza storica splendidamente restaurata, dove si respira un’eleganza autentica e discreta. Ogni dettaglio architettonico è valorizzato con grande gusto, e l’atmosfera è calda e accogliente fin dal primo momento. Il personale è stato sempre gentilissimo e attento, e — cosa tutt’altro che scontata in Cina, nemmeno negli hotel di lusso — tutti parlano un ottimo inglese. Ci hanno davvero coccolati, con mille premure e piccoli cadeau che abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo. Le camere sono silenziose, comode e arredate con stile raffinato, perfettamente in armonia con il contesto storico. Anche la cena ci è piaciuta molto: piatti della tradizione locale, ben cucinati e serviti con cura. La colazione, servita à la carte, è stata altrettanto piacevole. Gli spazi comuni, come il cortile interno e il ristorante, contribuiscono a creare un’atmosfera di quiete e bellezza che riflette perfettamente la magia di Pingyao. I’m very happy with the choice I made: the hotel is a beautifully restored historic residence where you can feel a genuine and discreet elegance. Every architectural detail is tastefully preserved, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming from the very beginning. The staff were always kind and attentive, and — something far from common in China, even in luxury hotels — everyone spoke excellent English. We truly felt pampered, with countless thoughtful touches and lovely little gifts that made us feel sincerely cared for. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and elegantly furnished in harmony with the historic setting. We also really enjoyed dinner: traditional local dishes, well-prepared and beautifully served. Breakfast, served à la carte, was equally enjoyable. The shared spaces — especially the inner courtyard and the restaurant — create a sense of calm and charm that perfectly mirrors the magic of Pingyao. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for authenticity, comfort, and outstanding hospitality.
