The site of the ancient city of Wiang Kun Kam is located in the outskirts of Chiang Mai. It was about 20 minutes'drive from the ancient city of Chiang Mai. This ancient city has a longer history than Chiang Mai and is the first capital of the Lann Thai dynasty, but it did not take long to become the capital, because successive floods forced the King of Ming and Lai to move to Chiang Mai, which had a better geographical location. Buried deep underground for more than 700 years, it was not until more than 20 years ago that the sun came to light again. At the same time, a large number of ancient pottery from the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty were unearthed. Because of the large number of village houses built on the site, the restoration of the ancient city remains has not been completed due to respect for private property.
