Quanzhou was first developed in the Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties. It was established in Dongan County in 260 AD. It was one of the four major ports in the world in the Tang Dynasty. It was praised as a bright city by Marco Polo. It was the largest port in the East in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. It once had a prosperous scene of "Shizhou people in the city" and "Wanguo merchants in the sound of rising sea". Quanzhou is known as the World Religious Museum. UNESCO will locate the world's first "World Multicultural Exhibition Center" in Quanzhou.
