Notre Dame Cathedral in Dresden, which was designed and built by the carpenter Master Org & Bell, took 17 years to build. It is the largest sandstone building in the world. Its dome, the so-called Stone Bell, is one of Dresden's symbols. The church was built on a square plan of 45 x 45 meters. By strengthening the spindle, people can easily distinguish a Greek cross. There are four inclined stairs at the four corners and a semicircular rear hall on the East side. The concave tower of Notre Dame's Church is 51 meters high, crowned with a so-called flame vase. The stone dome has a headlamp. Its Cross stands on the top of the church. It is 95 meters tall, huge in scale, exquisite and magnificent. It is the representative work of the western new church architecture. It is the landmark building of this ancient city and the most beautiful scenery of Dresden. Its Baroque style of architecture has become a model of Christian art and is praised as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. As a symbol of the modern history of Germany and the world, the composer Bach and many other music and art masters have played in this church many times. At the end of World War II, after the Dresden air strike on February 15, 1945, the Church of Notre Dame finally collapsed because of the heat of the whole city. Only a 13-metre-high wall remains, which is the eternal pain of the war for the people of Dresden. Thus, it is not only John & Sebastian & Bach who has played the organ himself that has been destroyed. Only John Christian Figg's altar escaped. After 1945, the ruins of the church became a monument to war and destruction. In the 1980s, Notre Dame Cathedral was seen as a symbol of the East German Freedom Movement and a place for non-violent protests. After the reunification of Germany, Germany decided to rebuild Notre Dame Cathedral with the support of donations from Britain, America and other countries. From 1994 to 2005, Notre Dame Cathedral was used as a place of faith and hope. The rebuilding work took 11 years and cost 179 million euros. The rebuilt church is basically built as it is, and many relics have been carefully preserved and become part of the raw materials for church construction.
