Located in the Botanical Garden on Nanhai Road, the History Museum is a public museum mainly collecting and displaying cultural relics of the Central Plains besides the Palace Museum in Taipei. The classical Chinese architecture with green tiles, white walls and red pillars combines Ming and Qing styles and is elegant and magnificent. Nearly 50,000 items are collected in the museum, mainly from the Henan Museum's cultural relics relocated to Taiwan and the antiquities returned by Japan after the war. Including bronzes unearthed in Anyang, rope-shaped pottery unearthed in Luoyang, and Tang tri-colored pottery unearthed in the Six Dynasties. Donations from government agencies and private collectors have enriched the museum's exhibits.
