Lake Baikal: Located in the southern part of East Siberia, Russia, China used to be known as the North Sea, where tribes in northern China were active. Lake Baikal, with a total volume of 23.6 trillion cubic meters (2015) and a deepest depth of 1637 meters (2015), is the world's largest deep lake and the largest freshwater lake in Eurasia. The lake is 636 kilometers long and 48 kilometers wide on average.
