Punchbowl 분화구에 위치한 Pacific Memorial Cemetery는 제1차 세계 대전, 제2차 세계 대전, 태평양 전쟁, 조선 전쟁 및 베트남 전쟁에서 전사한 군인을 포함하여 대부분 군인이 이곳에 안식처를 두었습니다. 잘 가꾸어진 넓은 잔디밭에는 묘비가 질서정연하게 배열되어 있고 그 옆에는 신선한 꽃다발이 있어 최근에 방문했던 사람이 있다는 것을 보여줍니다. 이곳에 오면 이 평온함을 방해할까 두려워 무의식적으로 이곳의 엄숙하고 엄숙한 분위기에 감염될 것입니다. 화구 가장자리에 서서 평소에는 볼 수 없는 호놀룰루의 탁 트인 전망을 감상할 수 있습니다.

Also known as Punchbowl Cemetery, this is a Landmark with no admission fee! There are great views of Honolulu and the west side of the island from the lookout point. Make sure you go to the chapel and take a look at the maps made out of mosaic tiles. If you need directions, go to the Office. You can even find the location of a relative or loved one when you type their name into the computer!There are special services on important holidays like Memorial Day and it gets crowded at that time...but it's decorated more with flags and flowers!

I was touring the National Cemetery of the Pacific when I spotted the grave marker of an unknown soldier...a truly humbling experience.

This extremely picturesque and peaceful memorial honors the members of the armed services who were killed and whose bodies were not recovered from the wars in the Pacific. It is also a cemetery for those whose bodies were found. I would warn that it seems to be assumed that one will visit by car. It can be walked to, but if you approach from the east, there is a section of road that has a lot of broken glass, so this needs to be planned for.
