Excellent Stay and Warm Hospitality at Mercure Kathmandu This was my first time visiting Kathmandu, and Mercure Kathmandu truly left a wonderful impression. From the moment we arrived, the service and hospitality stood out. A special mention to Paras, who picked us up from the airport and helped us with check-in. He was exceptionally kind and professional, and even shared some very useful information about getting around Kathmandu — which really helped us make the most of our trip. We had booked a room with breakfast for only one person, but the hotel kindly extended complimentary breakfast for both of us — a gesture we truly appreciated. The room itself was awesome — clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The toiletries were complete, even including a razor and shaving cream, which was a nice touch. Overall, the staff throughout our stay were consistently helpful and friendly, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend Mercure Kathmandu to anyone visiting the city — great service, comfort, and warm hospitality all around!

If you're staying in Kathmandu, this hotel is a good choice. The best thing about it is that it's a new hotel (opening in 2024). Everyone, including the staff, spa staff, and breakfast staff, is very cooperative. including the showers and toilets in the rooms, Wi-Fi, electronic key cards, and internet TV. I'm sorry to say that other hotels tend to be a little older, with broken, slightly dirty, or non-working electronic devices. While it's true that that can't compare to newer facilities. I had a wonderful stay at Funky Monkey Hostel Hotel Apartment in Thamel, Kathmandu. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Thamel, making it very convenient to explore nearby restaurants, shops, tourist attractions, and nightlife. Despite being in such a lively area, the accommodation offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were one of the best parts of my stay. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any questions or requests. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived and provided great suggestions for sightseeing, transportation, and activities around Kathmandu. The rooms and common areas were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The hostel has a friendly and social environment, making it easy to meet other travelers while still having enough space to relax. The facilities were convenient, and the overall atmosphere felt safe and enjoyable. I especially appreciated the great value for money. Whether you are traveling solo, with friends, as a couple, or with family, Funky Monkey is a fantastic choice for staying in Thamel. Overall, I had an amazing experience and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend Funky Monkey Hostel Hotel Apartment to anyone visiting Kathmandu!

카트만두를 방문하는 분들께 완벽한 호텔입니다. 왕궁 박물관 옆에 위치한 루프탑 수영장은 왕궁을 바라보고 있어 사진 촬영에 안성맞춤입니다. 객실은 시설이 잘 갖춰져 있고, 조식은 풍성하며, 서비스도 훌륭합니다.

酒店距離大巴下車位置1公里，預訂之後給我發了2個郵件📧其中一個郵件是告知注意事項，反正有電話號碼，下車給酒店打電話來接我，沒3分鐘就騎個摩託來接我了。房間還可以，在尼泊爾鄉村這個價位就不要挑三揀四，熱水不錯，洗髮水毛巾香皂牙刷都有配，吹風機和熱水要和老闆要，服務很熱情，總體來説不錯。但是這個酒店距離主街有1公里，如果外面吃飯不是很方便，需要預訂的朋友要注意，另外便宜的房間是沒空調的，又另外收了我40人民幣變成了有空調的房間。

The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

비슷한 가격대에 다른 곳에서도 묵었는데, 단연 룸컨디션 좋았구요, 직원 응대도 좋습니다. 수영장 물이 따뜻해서 저녁에 하기 좋았구요, 사우나 시설은 한국과 비교해서 있다는데 의미를 두는 정도.. GYM은 이용한 친구가 괜찮은 편이라고 하고요.. 12층 조식먹다 11층 화장실가는데 요가강습하는데 사람들 많이 참여하고 있었어요. 깨끗한 호텔이 여행자거리 중심에 있어 좋습니다. 네팔 여행중에 예상치 않게 좋았던 곳은 박타푸르 골목 돌아다닌 시간이었습니다.

최고예요! 포멜로에서의 숙박에 정말 정말 만족했습니다. 위치가 정말 좋아요. 타멜에서 걸어서 몇 분, 사얌부에서 걸어서 20분, 발라주에서 택시로 10분 거리에 있어요. 서비스도 정말 최고였어요. 여관에서 가장 좋았던 점은 직원들이 정말 친절하고 배려심이 많았어요. 숙박하는 동안 모든 것을 도와주신 갸누와 카말에게 감사드립니다. 가족끼리 방 두 개를 예약했는데, 방이 분리된 큰 패밀리룸 하나를 배정받았습니다. 침대는 매우 편안했고 욕실은 크고 사용하기 편리했습니다. 아침 식사는 카트만두에서 먹은 것 중 최고였어요. 신선하고 간소했어요. 옥상이 있어서 저녁과 아침에 바람을 쐬러 나갔는데 정말 좋았습니다.

I stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.
